Iowa Top 250 Heating Up With State Tournament Names

The Iowa Top 250 Expo is only a couple weeks away when athletes from around the state will be heading to the facility of Iowa PowerPlex in Clive.  We have some top 2026 athletes slated to be in the house along with some big names from the Iowa State Tournament.  Here is an early look at who will be heading to the Iowa Top 250 Expo.

Addison Bollier – Iowa City Regina – Six Pack 

Class of 2027

Devery launched onto the scene last year at the Prep Dig Gauntlet with her Iowa Rocket teammates.  She has plenty of length in the middle and is very dynamic.  She had a breakout year for Iowa City Regina, a high school program on the rise, where she was on the Class 2A Southeast All District team collecting over 350 kills.  Her high school teammate, Addison Bollier, will be in the house as well as one of the top liberos in the Class of 2027.  The Top 250 is a great chance for the Prep Dig scouts to see the up and coming freshmen.  Bollier was the libero for the Regals where she had over 350 digs.  The future is bright for this squad. 

Isabelle Kremer Isabelle Kremer 6'2" | RS Pleasant Valley | 2026 State IA – Pleasant Valley – Iowa Rockets

Class of 2026

Kremer is just reaching the halfway point of her sophomore year, but she already has a resume of state tournament experience with a state runner up finish and semifinal appearance in volleyball, and a state title in basketball.  She was most recently named to Class 5A 2nd Team All State squad where she was able to dominate on the right side and showed she could score on the outside as well.  There are some extremely talented sophomores who will be in this event and Kremer will be one of the best.  

Ava Groeteke Ava Groeteke 6'1" | MB Dowling | 2026 State IA – Dowling – PowerPlex

Class of 2026

Groeteke was impressive for Dowling enroute to a Class 5A state runner up finish.  At 6’2 and lots of length, Groeteke has a high contact point and creates a mismatch for the outside hitters with her big block.  She has a big time upside with her game where she is going to get on the radar of plenty of college coaches.  I have a feeling her 16s year for club will be a big one. 

Kaelyn Wieland Kaelyn Wieland 5'8" | S West Des Moines Valley | 2026 State IA – WDM Valley 

Class of 2026

One of the most dynamic athletes in the Class of 2026, Weiland was a standout at the Iowa Top 250 in 2022 where she showed she could set, defend, and swing.  I saw the same thing from Weiland at the Iowa State Tournament in Coralville where she was a six rotation outside for Valley.  She really does it all where she can set, swing, and her defense was so impressive from middle back. She has a future at the next level and will have options, she will make plenty of gyms better. 

McKenzie Moeller McKenzie Moeller 5'9" | OH North Scott | 2026 State IA – North Scott – Iowa Select

Class of 2026

Moeller will come into the Iowa Top 250 coming off a Class 4A state championship at North Scott.  She was a key role player in their role player the whole season for a powerhouse offense.  Moeller came on to the radar at playing with her Iowa Select 15 Mizuno at the Prep Dig-ChiTown Classic.  She brings an all around game where she can pass and attack, being a key point scorer on her side of the net. 

Joslynn Mehaffy Joslynn Mehaffy RS Marion | 2025 State IA – Marion – Iowa Rockets  

Class of 2025

Mehaffy is another athlete who was able to take the floor at the Iowa State Tournament. Her Marion team had a thrilling five set loss in the quarterfinals to Indianola.  In her junior season, Mehaffy had over 150 kills.  She will look to be part of a Rockets squad that will be deep in the 17s age group.
