Here are the 2025 pin hitters that caught our eye at the 2023 Oregon Top 250 Expo.
Boyd, a 5’8” OH/S/DS from Centennial High School, has to be one of the most versatile athletes in the state. She can do it all, from attacking to passing to setting. All of these attributes were on full display at the Top 250 Expo. As a setter, she displayed consistency in set location. As an attacker, she is She is incredibly athletic and dynamic. And the cherry on top? She is a standout teammate and was eager to step up during moments of confusion. Still raw and oozing with potential, she is an athlete to watch this club season as she plays for NPJ Portland 17-1.
Highlights
Euhus is a 6’1” middle blocker turned pin hitter from Santiam Christian High School. She is incredibly athletic and elevates when she is attacking, given her high vertical jump. The opposing defenders had to anticipate balls being hit over the block as she did a good job contacting at the peak of her jump during gameplay. Her previous experience in the middle aids well to her blocking capabilities with fast lateral movements and a strong press over the net, it is formidable. Given her versatility, I will be eager to see where she will play this club season for G3 18-1.
Highlights
Fauth, a 5’11” pin hitter from Wilsonville High School, displayed her heavy arm and powerful swing at the Top 250 Expo. Her attacking proved challenging to defend against, and she racked up tons of kills during the scrimmages. She is productive, adjusting to various sets and setters to put the ball away. Fauth is an athlete who, each time I see her play, continues to get better and better. I am eager to see her play this club season with NPJ Portland 17-1!
Highlights
Holstrom is a 5’11” pin hitter from Lincoln High School. With a quick arm and a fast snap on the ball, she showed off some killer swings during positional work. She transitioned from the right to the outside with ease. From the service line, she brought a tough jump float serve that garnered quite a few aces and disruptions during gameplay.
Kitchin is a 5’11” middle blocker turned right-side hitter from Lake Oswego High School. She is an impressive attacker to watch in action with a high vertical jump and a quick arm. Her attacking range was on full display during positional drills and hitting lines. Although right-handed, she could still obliterate the ball down the line when attacking from the right side. Kitchin has a lot of untapped potential and is sure to improve over this club season with OJVA.
Krueger is a 5’11” pin hitter from Ida B. Wells High School. The junior attacker did a good job finding holes in the block and working around it to create point-scoring opportunities for herself during gameplay. She has a sweet spot for the deep line swing from the outside that she utilizes often. She transitioned from the right to the outside with ease.
Highlights
Morgan, a 5’8” outside hitter from Jesuit High School, exhibited steady yet electrifying play at the Top 250 Expo. Multiple coaches noted her top-notch play. She is explosive on the attack with an incredibly high vertical jump that incorporates a disciplined left-foot plant to explode herself upwards. Her defense is scrappy yet technical. She reads the ball well and makes quick defensive moves to keep the ball alive. She brings intensity and fire to the court, a significant factor in her team’s staying on the winning court during the scrimmages.
Paulson, a 5’9” outside/DS from Jesuit High School, plays calm, cool, and collected, which was on full display at the Top 250 Expo. She brings a certain ease to the court and is incredibly reliable in all aspects of her game. When attacking, she is not shy about using the block as an advantage for scoring a point. Her serve receive passing is steady, and she has the confidence to take up a lot of court. She creates solid angles outside of her body to put up a settable ball.
Highlights
Reyes is a 5’6” outside hitter from Forest Grove High School. Although Reyes is undersized for an attacker, she makes up for what she lacks in height in her leaping abilities and athleticism. With an aggressive step close, she launched herself in the air and, paired with a lighting fast swing, she was able to score during scrimmages. Super speedy, she reacted quickly on serve receive to get her platform under the ball.
Scholl, a 6’1” pin hitter from Sisters High School, was showing off her explosiveness and physicality at the Top 250 Expo. With a hammer of an arm, she generates a ton of power with an explosive approach and, when in the air, opens her shoulder and hips up to turn into the ball, often burying it deep cross court. There is a high ceiling to explore in terms of college recruiting for Scholl; she is one to watch as she competes with Webfoot 18-1 this club season.
