She brings a certain ease to the court and is incredibly reliable in all aspects of her game. When attacking, she is not shy about using the block as an advantage for scoring a point. Her serve receive passing is steady, and she has the confidence to take up a lot of court. She creates solid angles outside of her body to put up a settable ball.

Paulson is a gritty two-way player for Athena 16 Black, she plays defense like a libero and has the athletic ability to get up and rip a kill from the outside. In the back row, she stays out from behind her blockers and reads opposing hitters to anticipate their shots. Her serve receive is rock solid, she can take more than her area and will cut off a serve if she has the better angle to make the pass. With her defense and passing ability Paulson makes any team better.

Paulson is an all-around asset for this team. As a six-rotation outside hitter, she is utilized in every aspect. From the front row, she is an offensive threat, with a fast arm and smart placement. Her serve receive and backcourt defense are consistent, allowing the team to stay in system. From the service line she brings a tough serve that has garnered lots of aces and disruptions. Paulson has been a major factor in this teams successes.
