2027 Setters on the Watch List

But this round starts with mainly players who contributed to their varsity teams as freshmen. Here are some of those players. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='483922' first='Gentri' last='Bright'] - St. John's</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gentri shined bright in her first year at St. John's. She was just shy of 700 assists, with 677 on the year. She also added 82 digs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='446324' first='Sasha' last='Cromer'] - Blue Valley West</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Cromer's stat line won't stand out but she was phenomenal to start the year filling in for one of the top setters in the state. When filling in she tallied multiple double-digit assist outings. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='478871' first='Maryn' last='Dean'] - Bishop Miege</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the Miege 6-2 offense, Dean was instrumental in helping the Stags capture another state title. She assisted on 467 kills in her debut season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='483925' first='Isabel' last='Lawver'] - Shawnee Mission West</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lawver averaged just over 5 assists per set in her first year of high school volleyball for Shawnee Mission West. Defensively she was solid, adding 150 digs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='445556' first='Tessa' last='Nover-Estes'] - Free State</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 6'1" setter wasn't too shabby in her first year for Lawrence Free State. She dished out 317 assists on the season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='483924' first='Ashlyn' last='Schields'] - Cheylin</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Schields showed she will be a name to know for years for Cheylin after a season in which she had 515 assists and 151 digs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='483920' first='Saylor' last='Stapleton'] - Meade</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The freshman set Meade to 29 wins in her first season of varsity action. She had 813 assists on the season. She was also third on the team with digs with well over 200. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
