A South Dakota Class of 2026 5’10” Outside Claire Munch Claire Munch 5'10" | RS Dakota Valley (SD) | 2026 State IA out of Dakota Valley was absolutely phenomenal to watch on Saturday. She hammered away 315 kills this past fall and I was really excited to watch her, after seeing her on film. Munch did not disappoint. She just flies to the ball so well and takes big swings. Munch is able to give herself options by transitioning so well off the net, takes a huge swing and puts the ball down quickly. She has great court vision and can hit that tough line shot. She is really dynamic and takes command on the pin so well. Keep her on your radar as she plays club for MVP.
An Iowa Class of 2027 standout was 6’1” Malia Rogers Malia Rogers 6'1" | OH Waukee | 2027 IA from Waukee, Iowa. Her youthfulness did not show on Saturday one bit. She talked well on the court and was a good leader. Rogers has long levers with a quick arm swing. She can swing anywhere across the net from pin to pin and transitions well. Rogers also has a great serve and passed well in serve receive. Her ceiling is high and it will be fun to see how she plays during club season for Six Pack.
Rallie Boyer Rallie Boyer 5'10" | OH Columbus Lakeview | 2026 State NE , a 5’10” sophomore from Columbus Lakeview, took huge swings on Saturday. She has a heavy arm and can pound the ball. She also does a great job of taking shots when needed to keep defenses on their toes. Boyer had 159 kills in her sophomore campaign. She did a nice job of getting some tool shots off the block too. Keep her on your radar during club season as she plays for Lightning and into the next fall.
Another Dakota Valley Class of ‘26 player 5’10 right side Samantha Kimbell has a fast arm. She is a great opposite to Claire Munch Claire Munch 5'10" | RS Dakota Valley (SD) | 2026 State IA and poses lots of weapons for opposing defenses to try to stop. She hammered 230 kills this past fall for the Panthers. She also gets positive touches on balls to slow down opposing hitters. Both her and Munch will be a dynamic duo in the fall. Kimbell plays club for MVP as well.
5’11” Class of ‘25 Josey Freel Josey Freel 5'11" | MB Plattsmouth | 2025 State NE was impressive on Saturday as well. She was listed as a right side for the Expo, but played middle for the Blue Devils this past fall season. Freel is very smooth running the slide. I really like her athleticism and ability to be versatile on the pin or out of the middle. Freel makes smart decisions and can see the court well. She can hit the ball to the deep endline or paint the sideline. Keep her on your radar as she plays club for Attack Volleyball Iowa.
5’5” Class of ‘27 Stella Fogelstrom Stella Fogelstrom 5'5" | OH Bennington | 2027 NE is small, but mighty from the pin. She took lots of big swings and was able to tally up the kills off of high hinds and blocking errors. She swings with a lot of power and force. I really enjoyed her energy on the pin. She also played great floor defense and serve received tough.
5’9” junior Courtney Carlstrom Courtney Carlstrom 5'9" | RS High Plains Community | 2025 State NE does a little bit of everything out on the court. Listed as a right side, she can set, hit or dig at a high efficiency rate. She has great court awareness and is a good leader out on the floor. I am really impressed with her hustle and tenacity on the defensive side of the ball. She has a ton of experience as she has started for High Plains since her freshman year. Carlstrom hammered 252 kills, had 336 digs, and chipped in 29 aces. In her career she has 855 set assists where she set more in her freshman and sophomore year. She will play club for South Central 16 Black.
That is a wrap on the pin hitters from the Top 250 Expo. Lots of talented hitters to keep an eye on moving forward!
