Nebraska’s 2025s have given us a lot of exciting moments over the past several years, but it’s time to raise the stakes even further. The 17s season is here, and dozens of uncommitted gems are ready to enter the club spotlight once again. We’re here to cover it all.
Let’s name a few outside hitters we’ll be watching from this star-studded group.
Kerkman’s emergence with Premier 16 Gold was a major development. The team was able to mix and match pin lineups to find the hot hand, and it eventually led to a bid-earning triumph at NLQ. As we look back to the fall season, we’re reminded of Kerkman’s volume scoring with Millard West. A similar niche could play out this spring.

Nebraska Juniors has pulled in some heavy hitters from the Class of 2025. Bohling joins the fray after a strong junior year with BDS and yet another appearance at the state tournament. Not only does Bohling bring a wicked right arm to the net, but her developing backcourt skills could be an asset in the Nebraska Juniors lineup, too. This is one of many small-town talents we’re anxious to see in the 2024 club season.
Liebsack is gearing up for a crucial club season with Premier 17 Red. An outstanding junior season with Bennington should give Liebsack some renewed confidence heading into 2024. It’s also worth watching which position she plays with Premier Nebraska, as Liebsack is adaptable enough to play on either pin. Either way, the goal remains the same: secure a Nationals bid.

New year, new club. We’re excited to see what Smith can do with Nebraska Elite’s top 17s squad, which is loaded with pin talent for the 2024 season. If her prep numbers are any indication, Smith should fit right in with Nebraska Elite’s productive scorers in this age group. Wahoo High School has leaned on its leading outside hitter for a while, and Smith has consistently delivered. That shouldn’t change with a new club team.

Petersen will resume her game-changing ways once she returns from injury. The Papio product used her incredible athleticism to take over matches for Banzai last season, particularly at high-stakes qualifiers. Petersen knows how to rise up in the biggest moments, just as Papio did in last year’s state tournament. We hope to see this high-flying attacker back in the mix before long.
Reitsma was part of an extraordinary Bellevue West resurgence last fall, so we’ve already labeled her as a stock riser heading into 2024. This outside hitter plays way above her listed height, leading to many over-the-top kills from the left side. We’ll see the same terminal ability with Premier Nebraska, but Reitsma’s floor defense and serve receive will also be a strength to build around.
Harding enters the 2024 season with all the positive momentum she could possibly have. We documented her breakout junior year with Lincoln Southwest as Harding entered the starting lineup and helped the Silver Hawks win a state title. Her next stop is Nebraska ONE , a club that has been incredibly successful with outside hitters like Harding. Keep an eye on whether this outside hitter gets her shot at a six-rotation role on the club side.
