Here’s a group of setters that stood out during the action:
Shafer continues showing her high ceiling when playing alongside top talent. On a loaded Adrenaline 17U squad, she’s surrounded by excellent options. She mixes up her sets well and has a good feel for where her teammates like the ball. Her long arms and athleticism make her a threat with her solid swing. They also make her a factor at the net defensively. Northern Iowa is getting a valuable piece in its program.
Hardersen shares the setting duties on a deep PowerPlex roster with Drake commitment, Katie Quick Katie Quick 5’7″ | S Ankeny Christian | 2025 State IA . That’s a heck of a luxury. Hardersen is a gifted prospect as well with an excellent feel for the game and a high volleyball IQ. The lefty produces precise sets and contributes in other areas as well. She has a smooth, powerful swing on the right side, defends the net and holds up well in the back row.

Like Hardersen, Schubert is a sound setter capable of helping plenty of programs at the next level. She comes from a volleyball family, which helps her marry a deep knowledge of the game with a sharp skill set. She shares setting duties on this accomplished roster, loading up her hitters when in her rotation.
Highlights
Donovan caught my eye last spring at the Windy City Showcase in Chicago. She’s a very active, involved setter that moves fluidly around the court. She processes what’s happening around her quickly, allowing her to find the right spot to set much more often than not. She’s a good athlete that can defend at the net or in the back row.
Highlights
Ray has made significant strides since I saw her during her sophomore season at Cedar Rapids Prairie. She’s playing with more confidence and consistency these days. She delivers the ball where her hitters like it, and the lefty adds hitting and blocking ability on the right side. Her serve shows nice movement, and she follows it up with a good foundation in the back row.
Highlights
McAndrew is committed to the New Jersey Institute of Technology. When you watch her command the court, you see that NJIT got a steal in recruiting. She’s a setter that keeps the operation running smoothly, encouraging teammates and relaying the game plan. On top of the intangibles she brings, McAndrew consistently dishes out usable serves, maximizing her hitters’ talents.
It’s kind of crazy that Rogers isn’t receiving more attention on the recruiting trail. Plenty of programs should be lining up for this super setter. Possessing the traits you want in someone playing the position, Rogers excels in setting up her teammates, defending the net with long arms, swinging it and also picking the right moments to tip the ball into open areas.
