What’s the Story of the 2025 Ranking Update?

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The class of 2025 rankings are live! And there is a lot of content coming your way. This was a really fun rankings update to build (and it took longer than expected because of that!). Here is a little behind-the-scenes look at the 2025 rankings update!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Commitments are rolling in. </h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There have been about 15 or so commits in this class that we know of, and plenty more to come. Seeing athletes find their home to play at the collegiate level is super exciting, and there is still an incredible amount of top talent available in this class. So far, three athletes are committed to playing in the Big Ten: [player_tooltip player_id='178033' first='Madison' last='Quest'] to UW-Madison, [player_tooltip player_id='178034' first='Gabriella' last='Pitcel'] to Illinois, and [player_tooltip player_id='178026' first='Olivia' last='Durst'] to Michigan State. Two athletes, [player_tooltip player_id='178227' first='Alexa' last='Hernandez'] and [player_tooltip player_id='178257' first='Alexis' last='Gardner'], will be teammates at UW-Green Bay. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Some top prospects still looking to commit include talented setters [player_tooltip player_id='178032' first='Billie' last='Reiter'], [player_tooltip player_id='178043' first='Madison' last='Marx'], and [player_tooltip player_id='178226' first='Madison' last='Tripp']. All have the potential to be huge assets at the collegiate level. Some of the top pins in the class are also likely deep into the recruiting process, including [player_tooltip player_id='178038' first='Eva' last='Finnessy'], [player_tooltip player_id='178039' first='Hailey' last='Goebel'], [player_tooltip player_id='178352' first='Madison' last='Daley'], and [player_tooltip player_id='178231' first='Campbell' last='Onell']. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The talent runs deep in this class in every position, and this club season will be huge for all athletes in this class as they compete at the highest possible level. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Stock Risers are Impressive.</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There was a ridiculous number of stock risers in this update. Between the high school season, our Top 250 Expos, and the club season starting, there were a lot of athletes that we saw improve at a rapid rate. Many took on leadership roles on their high school teams or were athletes who caught our eye in numerous settings. In all, there were nearly 40 athletes whose rank improved with this update. Some notable stock risers include middle blockers [player_tooltip player_id='178023' first='Brooke' last='Aslakson'], who broke into the top 25, and [player_tooltip player_id='202186' first='Chloe' last='Parker'], who jumped 15 spots. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Please remember: We do not typically move athletes down; if their rank drops, it is likely that someone else simply improves over them. Additionally, our rankings are always fluid, and we continue to update our notes year-round to be as accurate as possible. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We also added about 12 athletes to the ranking from the previous Watchlist, and six athletes who recently exploded onto our radar were added to the ranking. UW-Milwaukee commit [player_tooltip player_id='435358' first='Ella' last='Schuetz'], Viterbo commit [player_tooltip player_id='497925' first='Makena' last='Ihle'], and 2nd Team All-State (D2) and State Runner-Up pin hitter [player_tooltip player_id='497923' first='Julia' last='Ackley'] are all notable names who made the ranking for the first time. Twelve new athletes were added to our Watchlist with this update. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">There Were Numerous Club Changes. </h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While I am sure we did not catch all of the club changes, some athletes made big moves in this class. Setter [player_tooltip player_id='178234' first='Grace' last='Borys'] is playing for Sting 17 Black this season. This 17 Black team has several new names to the team including breakout libero [player_tooltip player_id='497918' first='Aria' last='Wessel'] and middle hitter [player_tooltip player_id='487023' first='Megan' last='Leedle']. Sting 17 White also has several new middles, including [player_tooltip player_id='178273' first='Brooklyn' last='Grisolono'] and [player_tooltip player_id='497919' first='Amelia' last='Werner']. Pin hitters [player_tooltip player_id='178296' first='Sade' last='Partlow'] and [player_tooltip player_id='178295' first='Ari' last='Partlow'] are headed to [program_tooltip program_id='432005' first='Madtown' last='Juniors'].
