SMV 17-1 out of Rochester, Minn. took the title with a hard-fought, 25-22, 25-21 victory in the championship match against Adrenaline 16 Doug. The victors won all 14 sets they played during the weekend, while the silver medalists took 12 of 15 sets.
Adrenaline 16 Doug
The top in-state finishers in this division will be in the hunt for a regional title next month in Des Moines. It’s a well-rounded squad with the pieces to get it done.
I’ve scouted Presley Myers Presley Myers 6'2" | MB Holy Trinity Catholic | 2026 State IA and Cambel Drapeau Cambel Drapeau 6'2" | MB Dubuque Senior | 2026 State IA throughout last club season and the high school campaign. Myers’ game has grown significantly to where she’s more than a hitter/blocker. While she’s still really good at those skills, she’s added the ability to play in the back row with improved agility and court movement. Drapeau showed me again why I think she can be one of the best players in the state’s ’26 class as a versatile, two-way performer in the front.
Paycee Sorgenfrey keeps winning me over every time I see her play. While she doesn’t possess the cookie-cutter physical traits often sought after by colleges, this kid can deliver as a six-rotation dynamo. She’s an explosive athlete with an insane vertical leap, hang time and power in the swing that can also dig it out in the back. I’m a believer.

Again, look for this group to build off of this experience.
Other Notes and Observations from 17U Division
