Central Zones Invitational: Powerful Pins 15 Open

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There were a lot of great teams and players this weekend at the Central Zones Invitational. Players from the 15s open division are coming off of their first High School season and ready to make their names known. Big swings and big energy was what caught our eye. The teams from Ohio showed that they could compete with teams from all over the country. The following Ohio players stood out above the rest, earning them a spot on the Powerful Pins list.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='480794' first='Morgan' last='Meiring']</strong> - <em>Outside/[program_tooltip program_id='431827' first='Elevation' last=''] 15 Tony</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An outside hitter that is able to make an impact on the game, whether it be in the front row with her whip of an arm swing or in the back row with her defense. She is a great player to have on the floor when you need to come up with a big point. She plays with a lot of energy and keeps her team motivated. Using her height and big wing span, she is able to elevate and contact the ball well above the net. She has a lot of power behind her swing, making her a key player for this Mintonette team. I think she will continue to be a go-to arm for this team and I am excited to see the growth leading up to Nationals.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='592215' first='Blake' last='Schroyer']</strong> - <em>Outside/TVC 15 Black</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Blake is a 6-rotation player that can put the ball on the floor. She gets a huge approach, helping her create the momentum she needs to elevate and play above the block. She is a big help in the back court as well, reading the hitters on the other side of the net and putting herself in a good position to dig the ball and give her team extra swings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='480857' first='Brooklyn' last='Hall']</strong> - <em>Outside/[program_tooltip program_id='431555' first='Mintonette' last='Sports'] m.51</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Not the tallest on the court but she more than makes up for it with her quickness and all-around athleticism. She is fast and powerful, able to get off the ground quickly and take huge swings making her a go-to hitter for this team. She is an asset in the back row as well, staying low and getting her feet to the ball to help out defensively.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='480834' first='Anne' last='Culkar']</strong> - <em>Outside/AVC 15 Red</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Anne is a fun player to watch, quick and athletic, she is all over the court. She helps out on both sides of the ball, playing great off blocker defense and swinging big when needed. She is very smart offensively, knowing when to swing away and when to hit a nice off-speed shot making her an asset for AVC and a big contributor on this team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
