Continue ReadingThe SCVA Red Rock Rave Qualifier is gearing up for its second weekend, drawing hopeful prospects vying to secure a spot at the prestigious USA Volleyball Girls National Championships. Yet, beyond the competitive fervor lies a deeper ambition—to catch the discerning eye of numerous scouts converging at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas from Saturday to Monday.
With over 15 divisions spanning 15s, 16s, 17s, and 18s, clubs nationwide are unleashing their best talents onto the courts, each player striving to leave an indelible mark. But amidst the fierce competition, it’s essential to recognize the holistic well-being of these athletes—embracing their mental, physical, and emotional fortitude crucial in the sport of volleyball.
I’ve had the privilege of connecting with some of these promising prospects as they brace themselves for the challenges of the desert terrain this weekend. These prospects give us a peek into their seasons, their dreams, and the energy fueling their volleyball journeys.
So far this season, my WAVE 16 Scott team has accomplished quite a bit. We have won 2 out of 3 SCVA tournaments, and in Indianapolis we went 7-1. Unfortunately, we lost in the quarterfinals and did not secure our bid to Nationals. Our team looks much different than last year’s roster. With every practice and tournament, we continue to grow stronger and improve. Our team goal is to focus on one win at a time. My personal goal is to be a dynamic contributor to this team, in hopes of playing volleyball at a good college and continuing my education to one day become an anesthesiologist. WAVE 16 Scott is laser-focused on securing our bid to Nationals and fighting to become the USA Volleyball GJNC OPEN division champions. Quote Provided to Michelle Bamford @ PrepDig

Our SynergyForce club season has been good. We play a fast style of volleyball. We have to because we play against the toughest competition in the country. There are some amazing volleyball players out there. We’ve played in the NIT Triple Crown, MEQ, next is the Red Rock Rave in Vegas and we close our qualifier season at FarWesterns in Reno. We want to be awarded a bid to Nationals in Las Vegas in July. Our goal as a team is to compete at our highest level and when doing that we can earn that bid. We have a moto for this year it is “Play Free Be L.I.T” L.I.T stands for Loud, Intentional, and Trusting.
We have fun with it. It also keeps us united. A few personal goals for this season are to showcase the best of my abilities, continue to learn and get better every day. I have a strong desire to play at the next level in college. Now with the PVF it is motivating to see how far I can take volleyball. My teammate and I have put in so much hard work on and off the court and it is paying off! Quote Provided to Michelle Bamford @ PrepDig

The season is going great! We are improving each and every practice. One of our team goals is to compete at a high level for a long period of time in preparation for our upcoming qualifiers. We are taking the time to get to know each other off the court so that when we are on the court we have more cohesiveness and trust. For the future, I’m excited to see the growth our team will achieve as a result of our hard work and dedication. We like to win!! It’s been a challenging season, but Supernova 15 National is a fierce team. Many of my club teammates and I don’t attend the same high school. And so after wrapping up our first high school season and then coming together for club, there was this confidence our high school season experience created in all of us. New vibe check for sure! Everyone’s taller, stronger, and eager.
This season we’ve been working hard on establishing a solid defense and putting forward an aggressive offense. Our goal as a team is to win, learn, and grow.
For myself, I’ve been working on communicating, reading the hitters to be a better defender and adjusting my hitting to become a smarter attacker. Im excited for our upcoming travel to Las Vegas for Red Rock Rave followed by Dallas for The Lone Star Classic. Quote Provided to Michelle Bamford @ PrepDig
This 23-24 season has been one of great persistence for my team LAVBC Flow Kamalu. The core group of this team has been playing together for three years and we have grown not only as a team and as individual players but also as a family. We have fought and given our all in the practice gym and on the court and will continue to do so for the remainder of the season.
As a team, our objective is to get a bid to nationals, and in the process hopefully become a more cohesive team. Quote Provided to Michelle Bamford @ PrepDig
