Helm established herself as a solid hitter this past fall for Scott, but her role has changed to setting for the Tri-State Elite Gray squad. Helm has taken that bull by the horn and rode it to success. Helm gets her feet set and follows through with good form trying to put the hitters into successful positions. Helm excels with all different types of sets. Defensively, Helm always moves her feet and never gives up on balls. She can still smack balls when needed for the club team. Helm is also a good server putting balls where her coach instructs her. Helm remains calm under duress and constantly encourages teammates. Helm said she is working hitting balls to the back lines, her serving and defense during club season. Helm had 306 kills, 16 assisted blocks, four solo blocks and 87 aces helping Scott to a 24-16 record, a 37th District championship and runner-up finish in the 10th Region Tournament this past fall.
Bohannon has been getting a lot of reps in before school trying to improve her defense during club season and it has showed in the spring. Bohannon goes after balls hard, does quick recoveries on blocked balls and forces opponents to hit balls different directions on the double blocks with some going high or wide. As a setter, Bohannon puts the ball at the peak of the attacker’s peak making it tough for opponents to block them. That includes a back set. Bohannon can also surprise opponents with setter dumps to different parts of the court including the back row.
Marsh has picked up her play knowing she will be surrounded by a different team with the graduation of eight seniors learning more of West Jessamine’s 5-1 offense. Marsh has great form on her sets. Marsh can do short sets, cross sets and back sets. Marsh has good form on her blocks and nice line drives on her serves. Marsh does a great job constantly communicating with her teammates. She had 1,172 assists, 46 assisted blocks, two solo blocks, 242 digs, 76 kills and 50 aces helping the Colts to a 32-10 record, a 46th District championship, a seventh 12th Region championship in the last eight seasons and a second state semifinal appearance in four years last year.
The versatile Melton is constantly trying to find ways to improve in all aspects of the game, which is a big reason she earned a spot on the Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association. She sets consistently from all over the court and is able to hit and block from both the middle and pins in the front row. Melton constantly hustles after balls and has solid spin on her serves. Melton has 2,970 assists, 1,126 digs, 432 kills, 128 aces and 100 blocks for her career. The 2,970 careers assists and 1,036 assists this past fall are Taylor County school records. Melton has been named to the All 20th District, All 20th District Tournament and 2A State Tournament team three times each. She also made the 5th Region All-Tournament team this past fall. Melton had 124 kills, 19 assisted blocks, three solo blocks, 351 digs and 38 aces helping Taylor County to a 25-12 record, a 20th District Tournament championship and spot in the 5th Region semifinals this past fall.

Rush is focused on pushing the tempo faster during the club season to help her hitters create more one-on-one opportunities particularly on the outside in addition to improving her court vision and setter dumps to add to her arsenal.
