Class of 2027 State Rankings Players to Know: Outsides

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Prep Dig Texas State Rankings were updated last month in a moment that was long expected for volleyball prospects in the Lone Star State.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>More than moving players up and down in a list, the rankings update offers us an opportunity to paint a more realistic picture of the current scenario in Texas and highlight the prospects who experienced significant development over the last few months.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The process of updating the rankings also gives us, Prep Dig scouts, the perfect excuse to learn more and more about the players, be it by attending matches or tournaments in person or researching online, and now with the list released, it's time we share some of our findings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Over the next few weeks, I'll go over the rankings, highlighting some players in each class. Standing at 6'4u0022, she's a scoring machine, who can carry her team's offense against anyone in any situation. Her size and power alone would make of Hudgins a very difficult matchup for any defensive system, but she takes pride in making things even more complicated for those trying to stop her with how versatile and well-diversified her offense is. TAV has been extremely successful in most of the major tournaments of the current club season and a lot of their strong performances had a lot to do with the team's dominant outside hitter duo of Martin and [player_tooltip player_id='534291' first='Gentry' last='Barker'], the top prospect in the state. Martin is not too far behind her teammate, appearing as the fourth-best in her position and tenth overall, and has proven she can score against anyone. She also plays beach volleyball as has the all-around game typically found on those who refine their craft on the sand, showing a solid technical foundation and strong physical tools. Glenn's ball control is well above average and makes of her an extremely valuable asset on the backcourt, playing defense and passing at a very high level. She emerged with a well-developed game for her age and showed from the start she's one of those players who were born ready to carry major roles with her team. She's a real force at the net with her explosive game and has noticeable progress with her athleticism and decision-making on offense. The outside hitter's leaping ability stands out to anyone watching and she's quickly learned how to make the most of the split-second of hangtime she has to scan the opposing court and make the best decisions with her shots.
