Some will be heading to their future colleges, others will be making the round of visits and seeing what could be a potential fit. With covering Iowa and Illinois, here are some middle blockers to take a look at and potentially get on campus this summer from Iowa.

has had a big junior year in being on West Des Moines Dowling Catholic state runner up team as well as being a state qualifying high jumper. On the volleyball court, she can attack and score from multiple spots on court. She can play on the outside, the right side, and can be utilized out of the middle in various offensive situations as well. Her athleticism is special where her ceiling is incredibly high. Whether its scoring points or setting a big block, she is poised for a big time senior season.

Roenfeld is so fast and dynamic out of the middle. She has been playing middle blocker for Council Bluffs Lewis Central and Nebraska Premier 17 Gold where they are always one of the top clubs in the Midwest. Her ability to block, transition, and be available as an attacker is special where she finds a way to hit the ball square. She has a great connection with high school and club setter

who is committed to South Dakota State. These two will be looking to get back to the Iowa state tournament where they were in the final four last season.

I first saw Eike play at the Iowa State Tournament for Ankeny in the Class 5A quarterfinals where they lost a tough five set thriller to crosstown rival Ankeny Centennial. At 6’2, Eike can play on any of the pins and is extremely physical where she is a strong blocker and hits a very heavy ball. When she can get a clean swing, watch out. She makes it tough to pass the ball cleanly to stay in system. She played club for Iowa Impact this season where they made a strong statement for the first year club out of Ankeny. Her Ankeny teammates and her will have plenty of big expectations heading into this upcoming season with a dominant senior class.

Speaking of dynamic, let’s talk about
Yasmine Sell

who preps at Solon High School and plays club for
Iowa Rockets
. Sell could play anywhere along the front line where she is quite the leaper and can terminate. She has shown she can hit a variety of tempos along different parts of the net. She is also an outlet from the backrow. Solon has some strong pieces returning to their lineup this upcoming season and the likes of Sell will be one to lead the Spartans to a post season run.
Hermanson preps at Cedar Rapids Kennedy and has been a key player for Adrenaline 17 Brooke where they have a 17 American bid to USAV Nationals, claiming it at the Northern Lights Qualifier. Hermanson isn’t afraid to take a big swing from the outside, but she is also able to use a roll shot and take advantage of the block. This 17 Brooke team out of Cedar Rapids has some really strong 2025s who would be ones to take a look at for the next level.

So athletic! Anna Roling Anna Roling Dubuque Wahlert | 2025 State IA is a big time, high flyer on the outside who preps at Dubuque Wahlert and plays club for Iowa Select. She is a six rotation outside who really stands out with her approach and her ability to jump to make big hand contact. She was part of the Dubuque Wahlert run to the state tournament in 2023. She was also running in multiple events at the Iowa State track meet. She is one to get to camp this summer and have tabs on for the upcoming high school season.
