Junior Northern Kentucky All-Star Game Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 9th Region Junior and Senior All-Star games saw a number of talented individuals take the court playing on the same team as a number of the opponents they face during the regular season on June 5 at Dixie Heights.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Both classes divided into four teams playing games until someone scored 25 points. The winners of the first two games met in the second game. Neltner plays all six rotations with the ability to hit it hard from both near the net and in the back row. She has solid net approaches, especially from the strong left side. Neltner makes good adjustments for soft hits to throw defenses off. Defensively, Neltner moves quick tracking down balls everywhere, especially in far corners. She's really worked to improve her blocking in the club season. It has shown with her timing. She does a good job approaching the net and putting balls away from defenders. Griffin has a good rhythm on passes squaring up her body to move balls forward to the setters. She makes quick adjustments on hard hit balls trying to get hands on them to keep plays alive. Griffin positions herself well behind blocks. Griffin also has a nice serve. Bottom uses her size well using good timing to perform solid double and triple blocks. The coaching staff has worked with her to be a more consistent hitter. She is tough to defend on the quickies in the middle constantly showing the ability to place balls away from solid defenders. Bottom also makes crisp passes on defense. Schilling has a nice approach at the net finding different ways to pound balls around hitters including some shallow cross court shots. Schilling is not afraid to take shots a few feet back including some attempts from the back row. Schilling is not afraid to tip balls giving defenses something extra to consider. She can pound balls from the pins and the middle. Schilling is also a good passer and keeps opponents out of rhythm defensively with her hard serves. Schilling had 320 kills, 356 digs and 44 aces guiding a young Cooper team this past fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
