USAV GJNC Preview: 2025 Top Rightsides

The USAV Girls Junior National Championships are fast approaching, which will take place from July 3rd through the 11th in Las Vegas, Nevada. Top teams from across the country are currently preparing to compete in hopes of representing their club and region well. Many teams from the CEVA Region were awarded bids and are eager to show the country what volleyball from the Pacific Northwest looks like!     Leading up to the tournament, PrepDig Oregon will highlight players to watch from each of the CEVA teams that received bids.    Up now, the top rightsides from the class of 2025 in attendance!    Gibson is a key pin hitter for NPJ Portland 17-1 National, and her versatility in the front row will be imperative as the team competes in the 17 American division at USAV Nationals. Gibson flies high and showcases a powerful arm swing, putting the ball away consistently from either pin but primarily from the right side. And from the baseline, she has a deadly jump float serve.     Emerson will be a major player for Athena 17-1 Gold as they compete in the 17 Liberty division at USAV Nationals. With a quick swing and a hammer of an arm, the left-handed attacker is practically unstoppable from the right side, hitting the ball at angles that prove hard to defend against. Emerson also has great court vision to place her shots, and she puts up a big block.     Snow is one of the rostered rightsides on Rise 17 Flagship, and will be utilized as such as the team competes in the 17 Freedom division at USAV Nationals. Standing at 6'2”, Snow is a dominating force from the right pin, hammering the ball almost straight down. She showcases both quick footwork and a fast arm swing. Snow is also a disciplined, solid blocker.     Schuller has been utilized as both a rightside and a setter for NPJ Bend 17-1 National this season and should take on those roles as the team competes in the 17 American division at USAV Nationals. When attacking, Schuller showcases a deep, tough swing to the baseline. She is a versatile attacker and can hit from anywhere in the front row. Schuller also plays great defense.     Mitchell will be instrumental for NPJ Salem 17-1 National as the team competes in the 17 National division at USAV Nationals. Mitchell has a super powerful, heavy, quick arm, and she is so solid at putting the ball away consistently. She manages to find open court with ease and places the ball well. A beach player, Mitchell also plays superb defense, able to pick up nearly anything.     Freeman has been utilized as a rightside for Rise 17 Flagship and should take on that role as the team competes in the 17 Freedom division at USAV Nationals. Freeman is skilled at moving the ball around the court, tagging the deep corners, sharp angles, and the line with ease.
