Emerson has continued to make significant moves in the 2025 rankings since her freshman year. After her club season with Athena 17-1 Gold, in which she shouldered a significant load, it was apparent she deserved a spot in the top 20. Rarely seen off the court, she was their primary right-side attacker and right-back defensive specialist, as the team typically ran a 5-1, allowing her to stay on the court. A high-flying left-handed attacker, she proved unstoppable from the right pin; with stellar court vision, she knew when to tool, tip, or swing. Across the backcourt, she moves with ease, displaying a solid touch on the first contact, disciplined on serve receive, and quick on defense. Emerson recently committed to play for Westmont College, where she is sure to make an impact on their program.

Emerson will be a major player for Athena 17-1 Gold as they compete in the 17 Liberty division at USAV Nationals. With a quick swing and a hammer of an arm, the left-handed attacker is practically unstoppable from the right side, hitting the ball at angles that prove hard to defend against. Emerson also has great court vision to place her shots, and she puts up a big block.

We watched Emerson in action on Athena 17-1 Gold. The high flying leftie was a key offensive weapon, taking big swings and finding ways to put the ball down. Not only was Emerson solid offensively, but she also showed her all-around great defensive skills. Emerson is committed to Westmont College!

The Athena 17-1 lefty Emerson is quite a force from the right side. Emerson has an explosive, bouncy approach and her arm swing is incredibly quick, both of which allow her to easily push the ball over, through, and around the block. The #1 right side for the class of 2025 is also skilled at drilling the ball down the line or cross court at even the sharpest of angles.

Emerson, the Lewis and Clark Player of the Year, shouldered a substantial load for Valley Catholic, rarely seen off the court. A left-handed attacker, she thrives on the right side but can swing on the left pin as well. Although only 5’9”, she plays bigger with some seriously impressive hops, she springs off the court with ease. She showcases no fear when swinging against formidable blocks, finding holes and tipping to open court to score.

Emerson, a left-handed right side hitter, has been an offensive power for Valley Catholic, which won the 3A State Championship last fall. Emerson was awarded 3A Lewis & Clark all-league second team honors due to her solid play. She has an explosive approach and a quick arm swing, and she dominates from the right pin. On the Athena 16-1 team, Emerson was utilized frequently on offense and was a huge part of the team’s success. Emerson will likely play a big role on Valley Catholic’s team this fall.

Emerson’s approach is quick and explosive; combined with her insane vertical, excellent timing to the ball, and ability to easily turn the ball down the line, Emerson was practically unstoppable from the right. Emerson is also a strong passer on serve receive and defense, contributing to her all-around stellar play.
