PD Nevada Stockup Showcase: Top Performing Setters and Liberos

<p>This past weekend, PrepDig held its first-ever Freshman Showcase, where over 35 players had the opportunity to showcase their skills alongside their peers, and in front of scouts and coaches. During the event, there were several impressive setters and liberos, but only a few are able to be selected as a TOP PERFORMER. </p>   <p>The following players showcased high-level handwork, volleyball iq and defensive abilities that gave them an edge. <strong>Here are the top-performing setters and liberos from the Stockup Showcase. </strong></p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">TOP PERFORMING SETTERS</h2>    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2024/08/IMG_2898.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-603956" /></figure>   <p>I happened to watch Angelina play in a high school game last week, where she earned my Player of the Match award. Her impressive performance at the showcase reaffirmed her consistency across any setting. Her jump sets are precise, positioning the ball perfectly on the net for hitters to execute effective attacks. Additionally, she demonstrated her versatility by hitting on the outside and digging challenging shots from the back row. As one of our top-ranked setters, she will be a valuable asset to any college team.</p>     <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2024/08/IMG_2904.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-603957" /></figure>   <p>Charlotte had some of the cleanest hands at the showcase. Her sets were like butter and made the hitters' jobs easier. She made excellent decisions during competitive drills and games, consistently placing the ball in optimal spots for her hitters, particularly in the middle. I'm looking forward to watching her in person during the high school season and following her progress throughout her career.</p>     <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2024/08/IMG_2913.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-603964" /></figure>   <p>Pelenani was one of the few players representing California, but she made a strong impression as a top setter at the showcase. From start to finish, she delivered clean sets to precise spots along the net for hitters. She was a standout throughout the event, showcasing her passing skills as well on the back row. She has a very promising future as a defensive specialist or lib and played at a high level to be only a sophomore. <br></p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">TOP PERFORMING DS/LIBEROS</h2>    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2024/08/IMG_2915.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-603965" /></figure>   <p>Skylar was exceptionally impressive in the back row. She communicates effectively and shows relentless hustle for every ball. She kept a positive attitude throughout the event and focused on delivering accurate passes to help her team set up successful plays. Agile and quick on her feet, she managed to reach many difficult balls with ease. I really enjoyed watching her execute precise passes and excel in serve receive. I have no doubt that by her senior year, this sophomore will be one of the top liberos in the state.</p>     <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2024/08/IMG_2905.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-603966" /></figure>   <p>I had the chance to see Hadley in action during the club season, where she was already impressive. Watching her at the showcase provided a deeper insight into her playing style. She is a hustler with great passing form, proving that she has put in a ton of passing reps. Trainor plays high-level volleyball and is proving to be one of the top liberos to watch in her class.
