Carlstrom's prep career with High Plains Community has revealed her do-everything approach on the volleyball court. She can step aside from her attacking role to set the offense if needed. She had a bounceback club season after suffering an injury and did everything necessary to win. Showers has even tallied standout reps at middle blocker as her positional designation evolves. The right side is also a common venue for Showers to display her quick arm and excellent court vision. She's primarily a right-side hitter but showed new wrinkles during postseason play. Thiessen spent time in the right-back area and was stout in first contacts across the back row. She could even attack from Zone 1 and spread 17 Red's offense out in two-hitter rotations. Like many of the pins on this list, Haight is comfortable at either outside position and will play scrappy backcourt defense, too.
