We've explored a couple of position groups in our recent stock-riser discussions on the Nebraska 2025 rankings update. Liberos and middle blockers have been in the spotlight already, but we still have a major void on the outside. Let's fix that.

Several 2025 pin attackers have boosted their standing before their last dance on the high school stage.

Starting with a GJNC all-tournament honoree feels proper. Heckenlively's career progression has taken her from middle blocker to outside hitter, and she's been electrifying the whole way. The Gretna prep star took her game to another level as Premier Nebraska 17 Gold navigated a tough 17 National field at GJNC. Her team reached the final bracket and Heckenlively hauled in post-event awards. Prepare for a high-volume attacking season from the rising senior.

Meister emerged as a leading terminator in the Nebraska Juniors gym this year. She showed her stock-riser potential in early-season events like the Midwest Power League, where she dominated on the pins. This Skutt Catholic prep athlete can play on either side of the setter but has recently found her groove as an opposite. Meister's development on the right pin was apparent as she guided 17 Black to some impressive results at AAU Nationals. The much-publicized ten-peat campaign is on deck with the SkyHawks.

Ropte is a perfect representative for [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last='']'s many stock risers. She was a critical piece of 17 Black's championship effort at the Show Me Qualifier, and her attacking is only part of the equation. Ropte also embraces her role in the passing pattern and forms an impressive block at the net. Waverly High School has seen plenty of recent success with players like Ropte rising to the occasion. 2024 could be another exciting chapter in that narrative.

Carlstrom has fit right into the growing South Central NE juggernaut. She helped 16 Black secure a second consecutive podium finish at USAV Nationals and expanded her range as a frontcourt attacker. Carlstrom's prep career with High Plains Community has revealed her do-everything approach on the volleyball court. She can step aside from her attacking role to set the offense if needed. This is a positive contributor no matter what role she's in, and we can't wait to see Carlstrom's resume expand as a senior.

Showers has been a warrior for Nebraska Juniors. She had a bounceback club season after suffering an injury and did everything necessary to win. Showers has even tallied standout reps at middle blocker as her positional designation evolves. The right side is also a common venue for Showers to display her quick arm and excellent court vision. This Lincoln East prospect ties everything together with some spectacular floor defense, making Showers a true utility player in the Class of 2025.

Thiessen gets [program_tooltip program_id='428728' first='River' last='City Jrs'] on the board. AAU Nationals gave us an updated look at many athletes from this club, and Thiessen was a consistent performer in Orlando. She's primarily a right-side hitter but showed new wrinkles during postseason play. Thiessen spent time in the right-back area and was stout in first contacts across the back row. She could even attack from Zone 1 and spread 17 Red's offense out in two-hitter rotations. Papio South will have no shortage of lineup options this year.

We're not done with South Central NE. This small-town club is stacked in multiple age groups with Haight carrying the banner for the 17s. This dynamic attacker racked up over 200 kills in her junior season, laying the foundation for more big plays in the 2024 club season. Like many of the pins on this list, Haight is comfortable at either outside position and will play scrappy backcourt defense, too. Sutton High School has its senior leader.
