Fantastic Texas Freshmen – Vol. 2

She has amazing setting hands and releases the ball very smoothly, making it get to the desired location without a lot of effort. Newton is of great help to her hitters with her ability to set against the flow of play, often getting them matched up with a single blocker at the net. Her size is a nice asset for her team at the net, especially because of how well she uses it on offense, making contact with the ball at a high point and swinging it with great precision to score. She moves extremely well on the backcourt and is excellent at reading plays, which allows her to get several touches on defense every match. Despite her short time with the team, she's already taking control of the team's serve-receive system, covering a lot of ground and keeping them in system with her accurate passes.
