We've finally released our early watch list for the class of '28, listing nearly 70 kids on the initial roster. The watch list is impressive to us, as it's the largest we've ever released (out of eight graduating classes). What's even more impressive is the level of talent up and down the list. Here are five kids you must see play some time this school year, in five different positions.

[player_tooltip player_id='586944' first='Blaine' last='Adams'], 5-9 OH, Cathedral

I cannot stress this enough---Miss Adams is, far and away, the most athletic freshman in this class. Her attack touch is at ten feet, she glides through the air when attacking, and hammers home kills with a whip of an arm. She made mince meat of the competition at our recent Freshman Showcase and, for added flair, helped us out in the middle when a couple of courts were short a few attackers. Of course, Blaine managed to continue to make waves in the middle, despite her size. This is a no-doubt recruit that has must-see written all over her.

[player_tooltip player_id='582888' first='Caitlyn' last='Gutt'], 5-10 S/RS, Fishers

A combination player initially from Hamilton Southeastern, the Tigers get a high volleyball IQ player that can run an offense as easily as she can put balls away. I got a chance to see this first hand last week when they hosted North Central, and Caitlyn easily transitioned from one position to the next, regardless of what rotation her squad was in. She can do all parts of this game of ours with ease, and without missing a beat in competitiveness.

[player_tooltip player_id='575131' first='Jordyn' last='Blair'], 6-2 MB, Westfield

A recent transfer from Tennessee, Jordyn is yet another big and physical middle for the Shamrocks that made an immediate impact in Academy's summer league a couple of months ago despite never meeting her teammates prior to the summer. She played for K2's 14-1 squad in her previous stop, and should slot in just fine at either middle position once she has a club placement. Strong, smart and athletic, Miss Blair is a nice combination of size and volleyball acuity that you just don't see from middles this young in this part of the country.

[player_tooltip player_id='435866' first='Kyla' last='Hurley'], 5-3 DS/L, Penn

Without question, Kyla was THE top defender at our Freshman Showcase, and is already making waves as a three-rotation DS for Penn's varsity this fall. A Munciana product, Kyla's intensity and anticipation fuel her talent, and there isn't a ball that exists that she DOESN'T go for. Give her half the court in serve receive, and she'll pass nails during her time there. With that Munciana training, this is a D-1 libero in the making, and it's only a matter of time before a commitment comes along to a Power 4 university.

[player_tooltip player_id='546287' first='Brooklyn' last='Gluth'], 5-11 RS, Boone Grove

A lefty banger from up north, Miss Gluth is a long and lean right side that has arms that make her look taller than she is. I like her lithe and springy build, making her agile enough to adjust to any setter on her side of the net. Brooklyn is already the top attacker in a couple of different statistical categories for the Wolves, and her experience as a leader only makes her that much better before club season comes along.
