<p>The high school volleyball season continues to progress at full pace in Texas as district play is underway for teams all around the Lone Star State.</p>

<p>This Tuesday, September 17, will be a busy day, with hundreds of matches taking place in the state, some of which are very promising ones, reuniting teams that look poised to have excellent seasons.</p>

<p>We picked three of them to feature as you prepare for an intense day of high school action in Texas:</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Tompkins vs. Cinco Ranch - 5:30 @ Tompkins HS</h2>

<p>Tompkins and Cinco Ranch will appear in the big match of the day in Katy, dueling in District 19. The Tompkins Falcons have an 18-10 win record for the season, are undefeated in district play with four victories and won their last three encounters. Senior setter [player_tooltip player_id='203987' first='Caelyn' last='Dumas'] (340 assists, 145 kills, 187 digs), junior middle [player_tooltip player_id='254092' first='Callie' last='Funk'] (146 kills, 45 blocks), senior libero [player_tooltip player_id='254089' first='Brooklynn' last='Merrell'] (349 digs, 435 passes, 48 aces) and senior outside hitter Sydney Lynch (131 kills, 100 digs, 231 passes) form the core of the team, which has benefited tremendously from the incredible ride of freshman outside hitter Elsa St. Rose (250 kills, 150 digs, 259 passes).</p>

<p>The Cinco Ranch Cougars are also up to a strong season start, entering the match with 19 wins and five losses - they won their first four district matches and are undefeated in their last three encounters. The team's senior 'Big Three' of setter [player_tooltip player_id='179888' first='Kassidy' last='O'Brien'] (353 assists, 89 digs, 21 aces), outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='525242' first='Gabriella' last='Martinez'] (156 kills, 87 digs, 131 passes) and libero Magdalene Finnegan (146 digs, 160 passes) has been huge for them. The team is also getting solid contributions from senior middle/right side Nicole Teerman (83 kills, 13 blocks) and senior outside hitter Addison Goertz (69 kills, 68 digs, 136 passes).</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Eaton vs. Byron Nelson - 5:30 @ Eaton HS</h2>

<p>In the Dallas area, all eyes will be turned to the District 4 match between Eaton and Byron Nelson. The Eaton Eagles have 20 wins and ten losses and won their first three matches before dropping one for the first time on Friday. Sophomore outside hitters [player_tooltip player_id='694805' first='Landri' last='Trice'] (145 kills, 165 digs, 287 passes) and Lexy Kay Martin (98 kills, 88 digs, 159 passes), senior libero Quinn Depauw (125 digs, 131 passes, 20 aces), freshman setter Keely Depauw (274 assists, 105 digs, 23 aces) and sophomore middle [player_tooltip player_id='534141' first='Londyn' last='Pope'] (77 kills, 26 blocks) have been key players for them.</p>

<p>The Byron Nelson Bobcats have been one of the strongest teams in the state so far - they lost just one of their 24 matches and are on an 18-match winning streak, having also won their first four district encounters. The main pillars in the team's formidable campaign are sophomore setter/right side [player_tooltip player_id='534307' first='Sophee' last='Peterson'] (743 assists, 129 digs, 105 kills, 43 blocks), junior outside hitters [player_tooltip player_id='320954' first='Kylie' last='Kleckner'] (315 kills, 173 digs, 337 passes) and [player_tooltip player_id='253981' first='Ashlyn' last='Seay'] (235 kills, 158 digs, 312 passes), sophomore libero [player_tooltip player_id='433638' first='Kaitlyn' last='Francis'] (218 digs, 170 passes) and senior middle Rayvyn Thomas (69 kills, 27 blocks).</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Eastlake vs. Eastwood - 6:30 @ Eastlake HS</h2>

<p>In El Paso, the District 1 duel between Eastlake and Eastwood will be the main attraction. The Eastlake Falcons have 26 wins and just three losses this season, are undefeated in their last 13 matches and started district play with a victory. Senior middle Jaelynn Kohli (257 kills, 25 blocks), senior outside hitter Kaitlyn Salgado (220 kills, 137 digs, 28 aces), sophomore setter Genna Gandara (701 assists, 144 digs, 29 aces), sophomore libero Addison Carrillo (174 digs, ten aces) and junior outside hitter Amerie Rodarte-Clemente (130 kills, 135 digs, 25 blocks) have been instrumental in their campaign.</p>

<p>The Eastwood Troopers have amassed 23 wins and four losses up to this point of the season and won their last three most recent matches, including their district opener. Strong performances from junior outside hitter Angelyah Galford (131 kills, 66 digs, 143 passes), senior middle Montserrat Soto-Talavera (68 kills, 22 blocks), junior libero Maya Gandara (123 digs, 149 passes, 21 aces) and senior setters Alexis De Vries (165 assists, 72 digs, seven aces) and Sofia Salcido (132 assists, 57 digs, 20 aces) have been pushing the team at the start of the season.</p>
