<p>There will be a lot of action on Friday, September 27, with hundreds of matches taking place in the state, some of which are very promising ones, reuniting teams that look poised to have excellent seasons.</p>

<p>We picked three of them to feature as you prepare for an intense day of high school action in Texas:</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Woodlands vs. Oak Ridge - 5:30 PM @ The Woodlands HS</h2>

<p>Starting in the Houston area, the District 13 duel between The Woodlands and Oak Ridge has what it takes to be a fun and exciting one. The Woodlands Highlanders have a 24-7 record for the season and are currently on a 12-match winning streak, ranking second in the district with five wins and one loss. Twin senior outside hitter Abby Lewis (296 kills, 157 digs, 376 passes) and [player_tooltip player_id='179917' first='Ella' last='Lewis'] (280 kills, 258 digs, 338 passes) are instrumental in the team's success. Other key pieces are senior libero Cameron McDaniel (508 digs, 322 passes, 27 aces), senior setter/right side Payton Stroud (286 assists, 184 kills, 161 digs, 37 blocks, 26 aces) and sophomore middle [player_tooltip player_id='443019' first='Elizabeth' last='Kath'] (74 kills, 71 blocks).</p>

<p>The Oak Ridge War Eagles have 28 wins and seven losses this season - they have five wins and two losses in district play, appearing in fourth place. Junior outside hitters [player_tooltip player_id='318566' first='Gabriela' last='Santiago'] (282 kills, 358 digs, 380 passes, 72 aces) and Leila Ceaser (203 kills, 253 digs, 380 passes) lead the team's offense this season. Oak Ridge has also been benefiting tremendously from the production of senior setter Bradi Rhodes (456 assists, 151 digs, 24 aces), sophomore middle Micah Rusher (142 kills, 86 blocks) and sophomore libero [player_tooltip player_id='541353' first='Brooklyn' last='McQueary'] (200 digs, 302 passes, 27 aces).</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Round Rock vs. Cedar Ridge - 6:30 PM @ Round Rock HS</h2>

<p>Moving over to the Austin area, our suggestion is the District 25 encounter between Round Rock and Cedar Ridge. The Round Rock Dragons currently have a 23-13 record for the season and appear in third place in the district, with five wins and two losses. Junior outside hitter Alta Wilson (262 kills, 165 digs, 295 passes, 35 aces) and sophomore middle Kerrington Thornton (253 kills, 72 blocks) have been carrying the team's offense. Also having major roles with the Dragons are senior setter [player_tooltip player_id='186330' first='Coral' last='Verrico'] (377 assists, 144 digs, 31 aces), senior setter/right side [player_tooltip player_id='178197' first='Alexa' last='Ankerstar'] (269 assists, 115 kills, 122 digs) and senior libero Emily Truan (257 digs, 332 passes).</p>

<p>The Cedar Ridge Raiders have 20 wins and 14 losses so far in the season and are currently ranked fifth in the district with three victories and four upsets. Senior outside hitter Faith Reynolds (269 kills, 254 digs, 431 passes) has been the team's most effective offensive player in the season. Senior outside hitter Layla Turner (173 kills, 171 digs, 319 passes), junior middle Kendall Lewis (141 kills, 52 blocks, 34 aces), junior setter [player_tooltip player_id='327553' first='Skyler' last='Scott'] (531 assists, 196 digs, 28 aces) and senior libero Kennedy Grubbs (290 digs, 487 passes) are also huge for the Raiders.</p>

<p>In the Dallas area, Allen and Plano East will meet in an exciting District 6 matchup. The Allen Eagles have 20 wins and ten losses in the season and are in fourth place in the district with five wins and two losses. Star freshman outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='586653' first='Maya' last='Ogbogu'] (303 kills, 111 digs, 198 passes, 41 blocks) has been on fire for them, who also have junior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='235287' first='Kennedy' last='Crayton'] (199 kills, 193 digs, 375 passes, 46 aces), senior middle [player_tooltip player_id='314726' first='Katelyn' last='Bowman'] (167 kills, 50 blocks), junior setter Emily Campangpangan (488 assists, 141 digs, 21 aces) and senior libero [player_tooltip player_id='254087' first='Brooklyn' last='Parker'] (188 digs, 322 passes) as other standouts.</p>

Junior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='254300' first='Simone' last='Heard'] (419 kills, 198 digs, 382 passes, 24 aces) has been a scoring machine for them. Other key players for the Panthers are sophomore right side [player_tooltip player_id='534313' first='Grace' last='Pinegar'] (125 kills, 17 blocks), senior middle Grace McDonald (65 kills, 48 blocks), sophomore libero [player_tooltip player_id='412438' first='Dakota' last='Huynh'] (312 digs, 349 passes, 18 aces) and junior setter [player_tooltip player_id='452246' first='Megan' last='Nguyen'] (259 assists, 101 digs, 13 aces).</p>
