Members of the Prep Dig Nation ask me several times a season, "Who is the best prospect I have seen come from Kansas?"

I have seen a ton of top collegiate talent since 2020 and it's always a tough answer. I have a top five that always come to mind, however, the first name to always pop is former Seaman standout and current Kansas Jayhawk Camryn Turner.

So when I saw that two of Turner's career marks in the Seaman record book were broken last night, it motivated me to write a report on some recent milestones and achievements accomplished by ranked Prep Dig Talent.

Congratulations to these four and thanks to the coaches and athletes who share these milestones with me on social media or via email.

Mills broke Turner's record for most kills in a career, and she has plenty of volleyball left to add on to that record. The previous total was 1,316 kills. Seaman improved its won-loss record to 25-1 with two wins over Basehor-Linwood and KC-Turner on October 9. Mills is a power-hitter verbally committed to Tulsa University. There are times when she can completely take over a match, which she did against Hayden during a tournament on September 28. Mills and her Viking teammates are looking to return to Salina to defend their Class 5A State Championship.

Washington achieved a personal and team milestone as she played in her 100th career victory for Andover Central on October 9. Such a milestone is evidence of an experienced high school player and one who has been in a competitive program. The Jaguars own a record of 27-6 after knocking off Arkansas City and Goddard last night. Through 33 matches, Washington has recorded 242 kills and 42 total blocks. Washington is among the most athletic players in the Kansas Class of 2025 and has verbally committed to play for Central Oklahoma.

Chabot was the second Viking to break one of Camryn Turner's records on October 8. She will set a new career mark for assists for Seaman when the season concludes. Chabot broke Turner's record of 1,433 assists in United Kansas League action in Topeka. Chabot has played a ton of volleyball at the prep and high school levels, so I am curious about her potential total number of assists across both platforms. The Seaman senior has verbally committed to play for Johnson County Community College after graduation.

Budke is a dominant hitter that I have seen multiple times this season. She passed the 2,000-kill milestone this season. She reached 2,000 kills on September 21 and since then, has added another 140 kills to her stat sheet. I saw Beloit and Budke play last weekend in Concordia and they improved their record to 28-4 with a second-place finish in the tournament. Budke has verbally committed to play for Nebraska-Kearney after high school. It's "State Title Or Bust" for the Trojans in 2024. That's a lofty goal for any team, but I know that's Beloit's goa after they came up short a year ago.
