All Expo Team - Session 2 - PDT250

The Prep Dig Minnesota Top 250 Expo was an awesome event where we got to see players in action from Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the Dakotas. They got a ton of reps and the best part, they got to compete in a fun environment designed to let them just go after it. There were so many great plays happening everywhere you turned and the energy was fire! At the end the scouts get together and determine who would be on our All Expo Team for Session 2. And honestly, I'd love to see Session 1 Expo team vs Session 2 Expo team!    Sweet was turning heads with her explosive attack style. She was dynamic from the moment she started her approach all the way through her fast armswing. Sweet also made some really nice defensive plays when we got into the 6 v 6 portion. She will be an absolute steal for a program at the next level.     So I got a lot of questions as to why Schmidt was at the Expo since she is already committed. The logical explanation that I came to was she is likely graduating early, not playing club, and heading to Marquette for the spring semester. Which means Schmidt likely hasn't gotten to play much since her season wrapped up late October/early November. And what a great way to get some reps! She has always been a blast to watch and her energy and enthusiasm is contagious. Schmidt moves along the net so well and hits with a heavy arm and I would be silly not to place her on the All Expo team.     Cocke moves really well in the backcourt and especially well out of middle back. She covers both corners and reads the attack really well. She has a calm and simple platform in serve-receive and creates smart angles. Cocke makes really smart shot selections whether she is swinging from the back row or front row.     Every time I see Soiney play she just gets better and better. She is explosive and athletic making her dangerous in every aspect of her game. Soiney is aggressive in her approach and she moves quickly at the net. She has a great vertical and super fast arm swing to go with it. Soiney can put up a big block and won't back down to a challenge across the net.     Erickson is like a pack of dynamite. She is small but she can pack a punch and the best part is that she is a really solid all-around player. Erickson is an extremely talented athlete and while she can show off an aggressive swing and a big vertical she is a master of ball control. She is also lethal at the service line while on the flip side, she reads servers and attackers really well to know where they are going with the ball before they do.     Johnson is a player that can change the course of a match. She makes really athletic play on the ball and I really wasn't sure of her position at first because she was doing it all. She has a smaller stature but she packs a huge punch and she showed off several ways of scoring with a wide range of tools.     Buri is a small school kid with a big future. She is such an energizer even with other players she has never met before. Her sets were reliable and consistently in the right place. Buri is scrappy on defense and you can tell she has a competitive drive about her that won't allow her to take a rest day. She is gritty and makes big plays when things are getting a bit tense.     Thein is an incredibly talented attack that is still available for recruitment. She is a 6 rotation pin hitter that is going to do big things at the next level. She is reliable in the back court and scrappy on defense. Thein is event more so smart with her shot selection and powerful in her swing.     Zimpel was impressive at the Top 250 Expo. She was smart on the court and had a consistently clean release on the ball. Zimpel was nearly flawless when finding the tempo to connect with middles on a slide. She was consistent in her placement and made adjustments accordingly.     Wenger has fast twitch reactions and does a great job of getting her hips under the ball and creating a strong platform. She is a talented athlete and reads opposing attackers and servers extremely well. Wenger is quick across the middle back and doesn't let anything drop in front of her.     White is a dynamic attacker and can terminate the ball from anywhere on the net. She does a great job of seeing the set and being able to adjust with speeding up her approach to the ball. White has a crazy vertical and an explosively fast swing on the ball. Simply put, she is so fun to watch!
