In our last positional breakdown of the updated '27 rankings, we talk about the quarterbacks of the offense, the setters. Each of these athletes brings something unique and special to the game, and each will have to have their most important recruiting year be the best year they've had yet. Here are five setters I like from five different clubs.

After another season of running the show at Center Grove, finishing in the top ten in 4A AGAIN, Anabelle has shown up and showed out as one of the premier setters in this class. She's dynamic, athletic and a relentless competitor once she hears the first whistle. Her ability to pick the right hitter to set in the right situation has become more natural for her, and her transfer to Circle this spring will put her among some of the elite attackers in this class. She's finally playing in her own age group, as opposed to playing up a year, so watching her play with her own class will be an interesting adjustment for her----she might make this look even EASIER.

Easily the tallest and most athletic setter in this class, Miss Evans is more than just "a tall setter". She can go get tight passes and make them hittable, she can be offensive when needed, and she defends her position at the net at an above average level. Stuck on a Carmel squad that struggled mightily this past fall, London will be more than happy to show her true talents on Munciana's Mustangs (16-1), who have their fair share of exceptional hitters to set.

Quick-footed and accurate with her hands, Emily can be found on Academy's Yeti roster (16-1). When watching her play, you can physically SEE the work ethic that goes in to what she can do on a court. Every tempo she can set, regardless of her hitters' skill or size, arrives with accuracy and very hittable. Her high school season didn't exactly turn out the way that it could, but as a floor leader, she should be chiefly responsible for the Flashes' future successes simply because of Miss Williams' leadership.

Speaking of a top-flight player being stuck at a high school not known for high level volleyball, Miss Peacock is an above-average setter with size and length that can make the setting position look simple. Her smooth demeanor, coupled with that athleticism of hers, will be on display for [program_tooltip program_id='527325' first='Boiler' last='Juniors 16 Gold'] (16-1). How Claire presents herself in the heat of battle is a character trait of hers---when things get heated, you'll find her in control, keeping her team together and driving the proverbial bus at the setting position.

Since I've already talked about a kid from Crawfordsville, why not go a little futher west? THS had a heckuva season this past fall, knocking off some big time programs on their way to a 20+ win season. Although Kassidy's size might relegate her to being part of a 6-2 in her collegiate future, she's still more than capable of running the offense for her three rotations. Soft-handed and quick-footed, Miss Merk single-handedly brought my attention to COA, which is located in western Indiana. Kassidy's work at our Stock Up Showcase back in August showed us how bad she wants this AND how good she can become.
