In this article, we're spotlighting the standout middle blockers who caught the attention of court coaches and scouts at the event.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Class of 2028</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">At just an 8th grader, [player_tooltip player_id='727149' first='Nalani' last='Derringer'] is already making waves. Her athleticism is jaw-dropping—she can jump out of the gym—and her arm swing is equally impressive, with a high elbow and quick snap that deliver devastating attacks. What sets Derringer apart is her ability to make smart decisions even on less-than-ideal sets. Instead of swinging wildly, she adjusts and finds a way to score. Her speed and agility at the net make her a blocking machine, closing gaps with ease and making life difficult for opposing hitters. Derringer's quickness allows her setter to run low, fast-paced sets, which will be nearly impossible for defenders to stop. As she develops her skills at <strong>Mercy Academy</strong> and with <strong>Union Volleyball Club</strong>, the sky is truly the limit for this rising star.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Class of 2027</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Watching [player_tooltip player_id='727145' first='Miller' last='Duncan'] play is a treat for any volleyball enthusiast. She loves the game and exudes joy on the court, but don't let that fool you—her competitiveness is unmatched. Duncan's aggressive arm swing and quick snap generate attacks that are difficult to dig. Her blocking is equally impressive, as she works tirelessly to close blocks from pin to pin, leaving hitters with limited options. When she's blocked, she doesn't shy away from attacking again, showcasing her resilience and strategic mindset with well-placed shots. A vocal leader and team energizer, Duncan is an outstanding player and a fantastic teammate.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='727141' first='Macy' last='Armstrong'] commands attention whenever she steps on the court. Her aggressive play style and leadership qualities make her a standout middle. Armstrong is a constant threat at the net, finding ways to terminate the ball through, around, or off blocks. Her ability to mix in deceptive tips keeps opposing defenses guessing. Armstrong's versatility is also worth noting. She excels at attacking quick sets in the middle, delivering powerful back-row hits, and executing slide attacks with precision. Berwanger's communication with her setter and infectious energy elevate her entire team.
