Standout Outside Hitters at Skyline Classic Season Opener

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The club volleyball season is officially underway and, for the next several months, every weekend will present a new opportunity for prospects around the country to compete and showcase their skills in tournaments.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This past weekend was packed with season-opening tournaments in the state of Texas and Prep Dig was at one of them, the Skyline Classic Season Opener, to check out some of the teams in action.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li><strong><a href="https://prepdig.com/2024/12/skyline-classic-season-opener-15s-photo-gallery/">Skyline Classic Season Opener: 15s - Photos</a></strong></li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We decided to follow the 15s division and, with just six teams competing, were able to take a good look at some of the teams of the always-competitive Skyline Volleyball Club franchise that were in action. An explosive outside hitter, she was in a league of her own when it came to athleticism and was a force to her team at the net. Skinner's swings were also very difficult to control because of the amount of power she was able to put into them and, because of that, she was the team's go-to scoring option, converting at a great clip even when set at the middle back position. A very technical player, she gave her a lot of stability on both sides of the ball. She used her length well at the net but what really took her offense to another level was her ability to see the block and find ways to beat it with well-placed swings and shots, scoring consistently and making very few errors. She proved to be a very resourceful player, consistently finding solutions to difficult plays. Rowse got off the floor very well and was always very aware of the positioning of opposing blockers and defenders, scoring in creative ways. The team's main offensive option, she got off the floor well and displayed great variation at the net, using different shots to beat the block. Padilla's play remained consistent throughout matches and she didn't seem to feel the pressure at the end of sets or in key moments, continuing to perform at a high level.
