Clubs & Prospects that SHOWED UP in Arizona on MLK Weekend

On this journey, Prep Dig NV went to Arizona to scout, watch and evaluate prospects while they competed during the Fiesta MLK Classic. Prospects could be found at several locations from Tempe to Glendale, but we kicked the tournament off on the campus of Arizona State University at the ASU Student Fitness Center then we were off to the Salvation Army Kroc Center. Clubs from several cities and states including Las Vegas came to play hard and display why they're ready for qualifiers and ready for college commitments. Let's give some recognition and attention where it's due.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading has-text-align-center">Fiesta MLK Classic - Tempe, AZ</h2>   The Fiesta MLK tournament came with an immense array of talented and nationally ranked clubs that utilized and showcased their best prospects in every division and every bracket. Dominance and readiness of the athletes were on full display, and this became evident from the first whistle on day one. We send a huge CONGRATS to the following teams who showed up and balled out as they made their way into the winning brackets on championship day.   [program_tooltip program_id='636812' first='Vegas' last='United'] 17s Black - Bronze Championship Runner-Up in the 17/18 Open division   The VUVC program returns from a very successful 2024 season and they've been competing in the SCVA Power Volleyball League where they're refining their skill and making ready for higher level competition as they bring the best on the court each day. The Fiesta Classic success came as no surprise and through every challenge, this team rose to the occasion to showcase their talented players. She brings powerful attacks at each pin and a very effective back row attack. Her defensive presence is well known to be a huge hurdle for the opposing offense and most often leads into a smooth transition for her team. During the Fiesta Classic, Tamara brought the excitement with a team that stays fired up for each other's success and watching this team compete will only get better, especially as Tamara continues to refine her game. She will be a great asset to a college roster and we're excited to see what this club season holds for her. The #5 ranked MB stands at 6'3 and she brings an impact on the court that is necessary and meaningful. On offense, and defense she is very active very vocal; and her communication along with her efficient footwork often leads to offensive success and defensive deterrence's and this is a phenomenal asset for Madi. We are ready for what Madi brings to the table during this club season and we are eager to see what college is ready for this baller! She is one of the most determined athletes and players for VUVC and takes her role very seriously. Audrey follows the flow of teams very well and has a very aggressive and active approach when the opportunity for an attack avails itself. There is no timidity in Audrey at all when it comes to challenging the opposing team's attacks. She poses an tremendous defensive threat & she will continue to bring the aggressiveness during this club season. We're excited to see her growth. This group rebounds from challenges in a very unified way and they competed during the Fiesta Classic with VU pride! Working their way into a very challenging and very competitive three-set quarter final that drew large attention due to the noise, this relentless group set themselves up in a great way as the Las Vegas Classic draws near. Her determination to succeed and lead her team to compete and win is ever present when she's on the court. She plays with a confidence that supersedes her age and this is a great asset to have. Every coach wants a player that will leave it all on the court and Kendall displays this at every turn. During the Fiesta Classic, Kendall showed no fear and relished the opportunity to dominate the opponent and fire up her team. This will be an exciting season for Kendall and we're here for it! VUVC #8, [player_tooltip player_id='766787' first='Kimber' last='Morrow'] came to display why she's ready for the spotlight and showed no hesitation to keep her team's expectations high and her kills even higher. With confidence bouncing from player-to-player, Kimber became a consistent GO-TO and she consistently delivered for her team. She displayed a great ability to attack cross-court and fired several shots down the line, forcing the opposing team to move their feet and this opened floor space that Kimber or other teammates exploited for kills throughout the tournament. Keep your eye out on Kimber! Housing a few Prep Dig Prospects, BBVCL was determined to succeed and this came as a result of excellent play by all of the athletes from pin hitters [player_tooltip player_id='537696' first='Kennedy' last='Cope'], [player_tooltip player_id='573499' first='Olivia' last='Allen'], MB [player_tooltip player_id='739421' first='Trenai' last='Blaylock'] to S [player_tooltip player_id='544710' first='Amaya' last='Fox']. This huge accomplishment came as no surprise to me as I was able to get a sneak-peak at this teams preparation for the Fiesta MLK Classic when they scrimmaged another local club. This group is fine-tuning and they'll continue to dive into what makes them solid in their rotations by using their most effective offensive attackers and building sound defensive approaches. These ladies came together and competed at every turn, using every player as effective tools for their team. Their last two matches consisted of "edge of the seat", "emotional rollercoaster", three set thrillers and Next Level stepped it up to run away with the championship. Congrats to the Cactus Classic Invitational 16s Champions! This is a second consecutive year a Las Vegas club has taken 1st overall in this division.
