Deep Dive into the MN Class of 2028 Watch List: Elite Liberos/DS

I have already highlighted the setters, middles, and pins so lastly we examine the backcourt beasts. Liberos and defensive specialists have one of the most thankless jobs. While every play starts with a serve receive, perfectly received balls are expected and when a libero or defensive specialist shanks one, well…everyone notices.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>These liberos and defensive specialists all work hard on their craft. They were selected by PrepDig staff last fall and placed early on the 2028 early watch list. At East Ridge where Opland preps, she average 3.4 digs/set and had an outstanding 64 aces on the year. Opland is solid in serve receive and reads the opposing teams setter very well which gives her the ability to pick up many setter dumps. Earning her varsity spot in the 8th grade, Repinski took over the libero duties her freshman year, averaged 4.6 dig/set, and handled the bulk of the team's serve receive. She has a quick movements and a good read on the ball.
