We're not done with the pin hitters yet.

Yesterday's feature spotlighted several pin hitters who boosted their early-season stock through the first Midwest Power League of the year. Of course, we never have a shortage of outside attackers to discuss at any tournament. Last weekend's event left a lasting impression with a few more athletes worthy of a shoutout in this position group.

So, we're diving into Part 2.

Plas can play any frontcourt position and become an impact player. Nebraska Juniors 17 Black will not be afraid to shuffle its lineup across the net this year, which can be partly attributed to Plas' versatility and firepower. She earned plenty of reps at the left-side hitter spot in Sunday's Power League and showed a knack for hitting gaps in the crosscourt. If 17 Black needs help at middle blocker or opposite, Plas can play those positions, too.

We've had a chance to assess [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 16 Black's highlight film after the team's 16 Club triumph at The Courts. Vohland was a persistent standout for the title-winning group and played a unique role as a six-rotation opposite. 16 Black looked to Vohland to produce plenty of clutch swings on the right pin, but that's not where her influence ceased. We also saw Vohland lock down the middle-back area as a floor defender--a rare task for an opposite. 16 Black's momentum keeps building after a successful Nationals stint last summer.

Indeed, we're addressing two Lincoln prep stars with two similar-sounding names. We were eager to see how Volkmer would mesh with the new-look [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] 16 Black team we've lauded in previous features. So far, so good. 16 Black claimed the 17 Open title at last weekend's Power League with Volkmer receiving a steady dose of volume on the left side. The Lincoln North Star standout terminated with heavy heat but could also vary her shots to find the open floor. This regional success is a sign of things to come on the national stage.

Huff's physicality and well-rounded skill set make her a perfect addition to the Premier Nebraska 16 Black lineup. She's shifting over to a team that saw enormous qualifier success as 15s last year, so we're bound to see Huff in the spotlight throughout the spring. The Elkhorn North sophomore elevates well and often scored over the top of opposing blockers last weekend. Huff also bolsters a strong 16 Black block that will keep improving with more repetitions. The stage is set for another run to GJNC.

Anstine is making a strong case to join our next iteration of the 2027 watch list. The Bellevue West sophomore shouldered a lot of responsibilities as [program_tooltip program_id='428728' first='River' last='City Jrs'] 16 Navy navigated a tough field of 16 Open squads. Anstine was eager to take up chunks of the court as a primary passer and could transition those passes into swings. Her length and high contact point made her an ideal setting choice in out-of-system situations, further elevating 16 Navy's offensive efficiency.

Nebraska Juniors 16 Black was a team to watch heading into the Midwest Power League, and that hype was backed up with a first-place finish in 16 Open. Ervin aided in the effort by locking down the right pin as an attacker and a shutdown blocker. The Ogallala standout soared behind the setter and produced several game-changing swings en route to the division title. And, like many Nebraska Juniors attackers, Ervin can trade positions and play in the middle if needed. Stocks are rising across the board in the Nebraska Juniors gym.

Mumford has already made her mark as a strong ball-control asset, but she has now added some impressive frontcourt reps for Nebraska Elite 16-2. This squad has a lot of options for its outside-attacking lineup, but Mumford gives a combination of finesse and consistency to boost the team's efficiency. Nebraska Elite's 16s depth was a big storylines before the first Midwest Power League, and Mumford's emergence has given us plenty more 2027s to watch this spring.
