The Bellevue West Invite gave us a firsthand look at several new faces in the Lincoln East lineup, but the Spartans still have several veteran leaders to lean on. Plas has carried the senior banner for this group and is averaging 3.6 kills per set through East’s first several contests. She played an influential role in pushing the Spartans through a five-set slugfest with cross-town rival Lincoln Southwest. Plas is battle-tested after a tough early-season schedule and will keep making gains in her swan song season.

Plas has become a focal point of the Nebraska Juniors 17 Black. Her out-of-system termination is perhaps her best asset, as Plas can make the most of less-than-ideal situations. 17 Black can also shoot up-tempo balls to Plas and let her hit through seams or down the line. This Lincoln East prospect has stood out on the regional scene and could be due for a huge senior campaign this fall.

Plas can play any frontcourt position and become an impact player. Nebraska Juniors 17 Black will not be afraid to shuffle its lineup across the net this year, which can be partly attributed to Plas’ versatility and firepower. She earned plenty of reps at the left-side hitter spot in Sunday’s Power League and showed a knack for hitting gaps in the crosscourt. If 17 Black needs help at middle blocker or opposite, Plas can play those positions, too.

Nebraska Juniors 16 Black finds success through its physicality. That’s where Plas helps lock down the net from the middle blocker spot. She generates sharp angles in front of the setter and is even stronger as a blocker. Plas will even put up long serving runs from the M1 position. Look out for 16 Black’s large collection of up-and-coming hitters.

Plas is the kind of outside hitter who can find an extra gear and take over a match. Her superior length was an important asset to Nebraska Juniors 15 Black’s offense this year, as Plas can work around or over some well-formed blocks. There was little doubt that Plas was going to end up on the 2026 watch list upon our latest update.
