Sara is currently an unranked prospect in the 2028 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because I have not released them yet. She plays volleyball at Cornerstone Christian High School and plays club for the Alamo volleyball program. Alamo is widely regarded as Libero U across the recruiting ranks due to their amazing liberos that come through their program throughout the years and Miss Gonzalez is one of the next great ones. She has everything you want in a back row floor general and has been around the high level game for a number of years since she has an older sister who has come through the program and won a national championship before. Sara has exceptional touch on the ball that allows her to keep the ball on her side on hard driven serves and attacks. What I truly love about her play is how disciplined her posture is while playing the ball. She has been trained very well and it seems as though she is extremely coachable because her form remains the same with every contact. Everything about her game screams “extension of her coach” on the floor and I wouldn't put it past any coach to select her as a captain. The game just comes very natural to her and you see it in her movements to the ball. It is like she sees the play well before it is happening and is always in the right position to play the ball. We are going to keep our eye on her very closely as we get to release the rankings soon.

Piper is currently an unranked prospect in the 2028 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because I have not released them yet. She plays volleyball at Smithson Valley High School and plays club for the Alamo volleyball program. We have gotten to know this young lady quite well on the court and she has been a joy to cover. In her first true Open Level tournament, she raised some eyebrows with her play at the net. After watching her in a few of our showcases this past year, I was sure that she would be perfectly fine to dominate at this level and boy did she. Going up against some of the best outside hitters that this huge state has to offer was not a problem at all for Miss Pease. As a blocker I love how she sets the block on the pins by reading the hitters approach and times it perfectly to press over just as they are attacking the ball. Her footwork is impeccable and she gives her middle enough time to close the block with her. Her hands penetrate the space at the net perfectly to create a solid angle to direct the ball back to the opponent's side of the court. There is no question in my mind that she has and will continue to earn tons of accolades if this is the blank canvas that she is starting from. I strongly encourage all college coaches to start watching her now because she is just getting started and will garner a lot of interest as the qualifier season comes along.

Claire is currently an unranked prospect in the 2028 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because I have not released them yet. She plays volleyball at Smithson Valley High School and plays club for the Alamo volleyball program. Miss Bolton really showed me a lot with her amazing play. Head coach Deb Gonzalez utilizes an interesting lineup in which she has Claire operate in many different positions in a given six rotations. The fact that Claire is able to do this and not skip a beat is astounding. I watched her set for the first ball out of serve receive while she was in the front row, then during a rally switch to a pin hitting position as an attacker in left front, THEN as they won the rally and rotated, she became a right side attacker. It sounds so easy, but all athletes need muscle memory to work in their favor at times and this gives her little to no time to adjust. All this tells me is that Claire is a superb athlete who has ultimate ball control and the mindset of a warrior. While she might not be as tall as some six footers out there, don't sleep on this kid because she can fly and crank on the ball to score with authority. As a setter, her hands are as soft as butter and the ball floats out to hitters so effortlessly when she releases it. She is the type of player who will excel at anything they do if coached properly. In my opinion, she is the ultimate “slash” player. This means she can be an outside slash right side slash setter slash libero slash COACH if she wants to. I loved what I saw from her and you will too.

These are not the only stars of the team as this entire roster is littered with talent. We have highlighted a few of their individual stars in recent articles and chose to feature a few others for this one. Some other names to know are right side Kyla Flores who must have wings on her back because she can fly. Equipped with some sort of extra elevation gear, she has one of the highest verticals in the gym when she steps inside. She is so much fun to watch because of her hang time. Superstar setter/hitter [player_tooltip player_id='482109' first='Sydney' last='Whisenton'] is one of the best players in the age group and the team tries to find her to score whether she is in the front row or back row. That is how deadly she can be with the ball in her hands. Middle [player_tooltip player_id='765132' first='Senahla' last='Thomas'] is someone who I would want to go to battle with any day. She is the type of player who is afraid of no one and has the skills to back up the confident attitude. The dynamic duo of her and [player_tooltip player_id='722075' first='Charlie' last='George'] in the middle make for one tough assignment for opposing middles to match up with. Stay tuned for more from this talented squad as they look to improve on this already awesome showing at a premier event.
