from courtside, it was clear she’s operating at a different level. I saw her take high, out-of-system swings and still find ways to score, using high hands, deep corners, and staying aggressive even when the set wasn’t perfect. There were multiple rallies where the play broke down and she still delivered a composed, terminal swing to finish the point. What really stood out was when she rotated to the back row and stepped in to set, delivering clean, on-tempo balls without hesitation and keeping her hitters in rhythm. That ability to control the match as both a scorer and a secondary setter is not common, and it’s exactly why coaches are staying on her court. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

Miss Whisenton is currently ranked as the 3rd best overall prospect in the 2028 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays for Cornerstone Christian High School and also plays for the Alamo volleyball club. Everyone in the volleyball world knows who this young lady is and that is due to her amazing athleticism. Not many can say that they are able to play multiple positions at a high level, but this young lady is a flat out stud in every aspect of the game. I got a chance to talk to her about her versatility and that is one thing that she hopes all college coaches take notice of. Although she might be slightly undersized in height, this young phenom is able to play above the net like every other six-footer in the entire country. Currently ranked third overall in her grad class, she is definitely in the running for number one when we have discussions about it. It was super fun to get to know her a bit more and can’t wait to keep following her journey this club season. Please help us congratulate her on earning another Top Performer award for this showcase. Stay tuned because this is not the last time you will hear her name from us.

Miss Whisenton has moved up in the State Rankings and is now one of the top three players in the state of Texas. She is now currently ranked as the 3rd best overall player and that is due to both her versatility and her skill set. She plays at Cornerstone Christian High School and for the Alamo Volleyball club program. We have written many articles on her and every word used to describe her athleticism is very warranted. Her fast-twitch muscles mixed with her awesome court vision make for one heck of baller that can hurt you in many ways. Sydney is currently an unranked prospect in the 2028 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because I have not released them yet. She plays volleyball at Cornerstone Christian High School and plays club for the Alamo volleyball program. I am not sure that there is a more athletic and faster setter than Miss Whisenton in her grad class. There were quite a few things that stood out to me when I watched her ball out with her team. She does not seem to get flustered during crucial moments in tough matches and that bodes well for anyone who goes into battle with her. College coaches will absolutely fall in love with her physical skill set on the court, but I think when they watch her more closely, they will see exactly what I see and that is a very fierce competitor who can do it all on the court and never give up. With hands as soft as she has, her touch on the ball just makes the ball float out so smoothly to each location. She can change speed and trajectory of the ball so well that it almost seems that she has the experience of a senior already. Another aspect that I truly loved about her play is how fast and balanced she was tracking down the ball. You can tell the core of her body is so strong when she is hardly ever out of position with her posture at the point of contact, especially in defensive transition. She is a special one and I cannot wait to rank this class and see where she falls with what I have seen in her play.

Sydney is currently an unranked prospect in the 2028 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because we have not released them yet. She plays volleyball at Cornerstone Christian High School and plays club for the Alamo volleyball program. Many people often ask, “if you could have a super power, which one would you pick?” It seems as though Syd has already picked the power of flying because boy can she soar in the air while attacking the ball. When you first glance at her, you don’t expect her to be able to lift off of the ground like she does, but when you see it in action, it is super impressive. This young lady plays very high above the net while both blocking and attacking and it is very fun to watch. Many of our court coaches were in awe watching her ball out. What is even more impressive is how she is able to terminate when she makes contact. The ball comes down with blistering pace from her electric swing. Everything about her game screams, “I got next!” She was a no brainer to select for one of our awards. If you have not gotten to see her play, I strongly encourage you to check her out this club season. If you can’t find her at first in the tournament site, I suggest you just look up and you will be able to see her in the air. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award at the Expo.

Sydney made an immediate impact on the very first play I saw her, as she rose up and crushed an overpass inside the 10 foot line. The athleticism is very apparent and not once did she ever appear out of place on a senior heavy, highly ranked team. She played all 6 rotations, manning the right side in the front and handling setting duties while in the back row. Not once did she shy away from attempting all of the sets, and she was another freshman who seemed composed and mature to handle anything thrown at her. Versatility to play two positions for a high level team, from a high level state screams to her potential and she is only going to get better and stronger.
