Five Sound Day 1 Triple Crown NIT Players

Owens has always done a great job taking solid approaches to balls and sending them sizzling to the floor. What has improved dramatically during the club season is that hard jump serve. She kept opponents out of rhythm a good bit in the Red 17s win over the Arizona Storm 17 Lightning on Saturday. Opponents have to cover the entire floor against Owen because she does mix in soft hits. When the team is out of system and needs a kill, Anthony delivers time and time again. Anthony can push balls to the near corner then send hard ones to the far corner. Richardson does a great job surveying the floor then mixing in hard or soft shots trying to put balls down. She dominated the net with hard swings, a number of timely double blocks then closed it out with hard serves. Elite could not get into a rhythm against her serving on those final points. Northern does a great job using her size to her advantage. Northern's offensive fakes can not be overlooked either. Wilson can take swings from the back row when needed. She played a lot of back row on Saturday and did a good job serving and setting up the offense.
