President's Day In StL: Available 26s In 17 Premier Red

Moving right along with our President's Day Saint Louis preview, there are a ton of available athletes in divisions other than open. Listed below are seven athletes from seven different clubs from around the state, representing all positions, with each of them bringing something unique to the table for their recruitment.    I keep coming back to athletes that bring joy and a positive vibe to the court no matter what the score is or what the situation is. Hayden is that kid---a full-go and no-quit middle that finds ways to score points and, when not scoring points, bringing up her fellow teammates. She's the glue; the one kid that can complete a roster simply by her being there. Her length is also a strength of hers, which allows her to defend at an upper level for this age group.     Rarely---and I mean rarely---do I mention defensive specialists at the club level. The reasoning? There are so many, and they're practically all interchangeable. Not so for Caya. The libero for one of the top 1A schools in the state, Miss Stillings is a quick-footed and smart libero who can play any of the back row positions on request. She's more known for her left-back prowess, and covers a ton of ground on both coverage and pursuit balls. Add to the fact that she's getting defensive training from the folks in West Lafayette, and the rest should speak for itself.     A recent state champ in 2A this past fall, Emmerson is an exceptionally long and athletic middle that plays much taller than her frame. Middles that can defend their position are so hard to find these days, so seeing Miss Gott in action is worth the trip to Saint Louis. Despite her narrow build, she's quick, strong and can cause problems for any and all hitters she goes against. Additionally, her offense has picked up in the last year or so, making her a prime candidate for the M2 position at the next level.     There are no other kids on this list---heck, in this position---that are more athletic and do more for their squad than what Lucy can do at Ignite Elite. Miss McCollum is currently part of a modified 6-2, where she runs an elite-level offense in the back row while hammering away with her left hand in the front row. As far as volleyball acuity goes, she takes what the defense gives her. Hyper aware and seemingly always ready for anything, Lucy makes this game look easy---in EVERY part. A lefty setter, with an attack touch nearing ten feet that can do everything well? Sign me up.     Tecumseh regularly produces some of the top multi-sport female athletes in southwestern Indiana year-in and year-out. Shae is no exception---she's strong, physical, aggressive and more than capable of playing either pin at the next level. Already accustomed to being part of a fast offense in high school (and winning, for that matter), she's part of a Metro squad where speed and quickness are key, and Miss Bailey has a ton of both.     With one of the highest attack touches in this class for this position, Jaycee can be found on Monon's 17-1O Tornados roster as a springy and quick pin attacker. Recently moved from the middle to the pin, Miss Jones transitions quick and gets up even quicker. I've seen her put balls away in a variety of methods, and all of them happen because of her athleticism and quickness. Additionally, she's a six-rotation player, making her a little more apt to be found on the left pin at the next level. Her serve receive is adequate for what she's being asked to do for her squad at Monon, but her calling card is definitely her jumping ability on the attack.     Able to play on the right side OR as an M2 at the next level, Adele is a long and intimidating presence on the right pin. She's tough to go against when she blocks---outsides have regularly had to alter their shots going against her because of her blocking strength. As an attacker, she hits high and hard and can hit any angle available to her. Add to all of this her 6'1" frame, and you can see how Adele is an integral part of this, or any, roster.
