I keep coming back to athletes that bring joy and a positive vibe to the court no matter what the score is or what the situation is. Hayden is that kid—a full-go and no-quit middle that finds ways to score points and, when not scoring points, bringing up her fellow teammates. She’s the glue; the one kid that can complete a roster simply by her being there. Her length is also a strength of hers, which allows her to defend at an upper level for this age group.

I’ve been high on Hayden’s stock for some time now, and I paint her as the “glue” for any team she plays for. Found on Academy’s 17-2 squad, Miss Ramsey can play either middle position, as she attacks just as efficiently in front of or behind the setter. On defense, her length is her strength, and more often than not she’s in the right place at the right time with the right level of “press” when blocking. As for being the “glue”, this kid is eternally positive and encouraging in every point, no matter what happens. You could do a lot worsen in the middle, but why? Hayden’s available right NOW.

Ramsey comes from a great volleyball school in New Palestine and the solid training she has received both there and at The Academy definitely helped her to stand out amongst our middles at the Expo. Her efficient ability to see the block and swing around it on the one ball is what made her stand out the most – I rarely (if ever) saw her get blocked. Add to that her long frame at 6’1″ with big hands and you also get a solid blocker at the net who moves really well laterally and never gives up on the block. I think my favorite thing about Hayden is her infectious joy and delight for the game; during 6 v 6 play she was having so much fun, which quickly allowed the whole court to relax and enjoy their time playing together. Ramsey is an uncommitted 2026 who needs scooped up soon!
