16 Spectacular 6 Rotation Performances at the Champions Cup

The Champions Cup was two days of great matches, and many of the matches went to 3 sets. It was fun to add new names to my list and see some familiar faces playing on the court. Let's dive into some 6-rotation athletes who stood out to me at the 15s, 16s, and 17s/18s divisions.    Leilah got the job done on the court in the front and back row. She has a huge vertical and absolutely soars when she takes her full approach. She can make plays in both in and out-of-system situations and is a go-to hitter. Leilah is also a talented defender who can run balls down from corner to corner and dig in deep for hard-driven balls.     Sierra set throughout the weekend, and I also saw her on the right side for a few matches. She has an energizing presence on the court and is a huge motivator for her team. Her grit as a setter and hustle on the court help her make big plays. She has a great touch on the ball and feeds all her hitters. Sierra made good connections with each of her hitters and could terminate and earn points when she was on the right side.     Aubrie is an athlete playing up an age division and doing a great job. She is fearless on the pin and in the back row. Her aggressive play kept some really tough balls alive and energized her team. Aubrie wasn't afraid to take big swings even with a block in front of her, and more often than not, it worked in her favor. She is a player to keep an eye on.     Melania is a pin for [program_tooltip program_id='432005' first='Madtown' last='Juniors'] 163 Select. She has a huge amount of potential. Her fundamentals are solid, and she makes smart plays on the pin. Melania also has a powerhouse serve that had numerous teams scrambling to control it. She is a competitor with a lot to offer in all six rotations and was impressive at the Champions Cup.     Julia ran a 5-1 throughout the tournament for Southwest and was a leader from start to finish. She is an energizer and puts in a lot of hustle. Julia brings so much consistency to the court from the first point to the very last and seems to have endless energy. Southwest made it to the championship of the 16s division, and Julia played a huge role in that team effort.     What stands out about Mikayla is her consistency. She has a great platform, clean passes, and high contact on her swings. Mikayla minimizes errors while remaining aggressive and finds a great balance. Her decision making is smart and she plays a clean game of volleyball. She reads the court very well and has good court awareness.     MaKaelyn is the type of player who is tough to take off the court. She is well-rounded, competitive, and a leader. As a setter, she makes smart decisions and can place the ball where it needs to go. She also positively impacts offense and puts up a solid block. Her all-around play has only continued to develop over the years.     Alyssa is a 6-rotation middle who can do it all. She is an absolute beast in the front row with a massive vertical and powerhouse armswing. She also puts up an impenetrable block. Her competitive drive means she will earn point after point in any way possible. She is also a very good passer and can play high-level defense and serve receive. Alyssa is committed to MSOE and will be a great addition to their program.     Ashlin played six rotations on day 1 of the tournament and absolutely rocked it. She is committed to Cornell College and a player who can immediately impact any team. She takes an explosive approach and has a lethal swing. Her power is impressive, and she sees the block well. Ashlin is a consistent force on the court and was a go-to point earner for I AM throughout the 2-day tournament. She could be relied on in pressure moments, earning kills on match point to head to the championship and to win the tournament.     Madelyn is a Michigan Tech commit who showed her ability to manufacture points in all six rotations throughout the tournament. She is a lefty right side that contributes on nearly every play and is fundamentally sound in all of her skills. She can take huge rips across the net and earned some very impressive points out of the middle. Madelyn has a high volleyball IQ and uses it to help elevate her team to the next level.     I loved how Rya stepped up for her team. She is a consistent force in all six rotations and might fly under the radar a bit for her contributions. But when her team needed the kill, the ace, or the big play, Rya was right there to make the play and earn the point. She is a pretty low-error player who chooses her moments to make her move. She caught my eye with her consistent serve receive and great defensive plays, then continued to impress me with her smart and efficient offensive point-earning.     Kaylie is a high-flying pin who can take massive rips on the ball when she connects. She is athletic and has great endurance during long plays, taking multiple jumps and still executing well. She impressed me with her shot selection and power in the front row. Kaylie is a Concordia Wisconsin commit who will be fun to watch at the next level.     Gracie is a St. Norbert's commit who has a powerhouse swing and a quick eye for open shots on the court. She makes her presence known in all six rotations and contributes equally on offense, defense, and serve receive. Gracie is a balanced, reliable athlete who can still provide a spark of energy with her big kills.     Kinsley is an engaged pin who never misses a beat on the court. She plays fearlessly and aggressively. Kinsley has a lethal line shot and consistently mixes up where she is swinging the ball, which helps increase her efficiency. She is confident and clean in the back row, getting great defensive touches and communicating well in serve receive. [program_tooltip program_id='431479' first='Wisconsin' last='Juniors'] won the 15 Open Division, and Kinsley contributed significantly to her team's win.     Charlotte is a setter who has a quick touch on the ball and pushes the pace to her hitters. She set a fast tempo, and it paid off this weekend when her team did not drop a single set. Charlotte is consistent, competitive, and works hard to provide the best sets for her teammates. She also has a wicked serve that keeps her behind the line for numerous points. Charlotte is highly talented and a leader on the court.     Hayden was a consistent and reliable force for her team. She carried a big load, playing on the right side in the front row and setting from the back row. She would often be set several times in one play, and she was a go-to hitter for her team. Hayden was mature and impressive in her play as she led her team in all six rotations. She played with grit and tenacity throughout the tournament.
