The Class of 2028 setter just glides on the court, she is so smooth with how she gets to the ball to how she finds a favorable matchup for her attackers. She’s not afraid to establish the middles and is tough for the defense to read where she is going with the ball. There’s great tempo to her ball and her overall intangibles are so positive. She was a 15 Premier AAU All American and her 16-1 team at Wisconsin Juniors grabbed a 16 American bid to Indy.

She can find her hitters from anywhere on the court. Charlotte’s speed and precision with her sets set her apart. She utilizes every hitter available to her and makes smart choices.

Shepherd is a strong setter who sets tempo, can push ball to the pin, and find her middles in transition. She has excellent court awareness and makes smart choices while running the offense including when and where to throw down a perfect timed setter dump. Sherpherd also has a good laser of a float serve that many teams had trouble handling.

Charlotte is a setter who has a quick touch on the ball and pushes the pace to her hitters. She set a fast tempo, and it paid off this weekend when her team did not drop a single set. Charlotte is consistent, competitive, and works hard to provide the best sets for her teammates. She also has a wicked serve that keeps her behind the line for numerous points. Charlotte is highly talented and a leader on the court.

Charlotte is a force on the court. She plays a very clean game of volleyball and never misses a beat. From three states away, I could tell how well she ran the court and her ability to better the ball on every play. She led her team to a 9th-place gold bracket finish in the open division. Charlotte has a quick touch on the ball and is tough to read. She is a player with a lot of potential and one that is already playing at a very high level.

Charlotte stood out to me primarily during the gameplay portion of the Expo. The way she ran the court was impressive. Despite never having played with most of the athletes, she was a clear leader. Charlotte also made smart decisions, showed her high volleyball IQ, and spread her offense well. Her technical skills were solid as well.
