Diving Deep into the Setters in the 2026 Ranking Update

<p>Setters have some of the most challenging jobs on the court, and the setters in this class do it with poise and confidence. There are some major commits and plenty more still looking for the right fit. This article is a deep dive into the ranking update of the setters in the class of 2026, including top-ranked athletes, stock risers, new to the rank, and new watchlist players. Let's take a look.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Top-Ranked Athletes</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Brooke is the top-ranked setter and the #4 ranked athlete in this class in Wisconsin. She is also ranked #121 nationally. Brooke runs the court like a seasoned pro and is committed to Rutgers. It will be so fun to see her take her talents to the Big 10. She is very savvy and has excellent court awareness. Brooke is the type of player who will do anything to win and constantly makes the players around her better. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Sari recently committed to UW-Green Bay and is the #2 setter in this class. She has to be one of the most competitive and gritty athletes you will see play. She can set and swing and is incredibly well-rounded. Sari is a physical player who brings an offensive mindset to everything she does. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Ella is an explosive athlete who doesn't miss a beat on the court. She has a big vertical and is tough to read. She is an Illinois State commit, and it will be exciting to see her take her speed and tempo to the next level. Ella shows a lot of grit and is an all-around high-level setter. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Anabelle has some of the cleanest form you will see from a setter. She has near flawless footwork. She is excellent at staying neutral, so opponents can't read her decisions. That, coupled with her fast tempo, can help give her hitters an open net. She is committed to South Alabama and has been on the Badger High-Performance roster for several years. She has a lot of high-level experience and is incredibly talented.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Addie is an athlete who just keeps elevating her game. She is very consistent and has a huge upside with her speed and ability to place balls consistently even when on the move. Addie is an absolute gamer who sets her teammates up for success. She is also a great defender and makes great reads. Every aspect of her game is aggressive including her serve. Addie is committed to Wichita State and could be a huge difference-maker.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Stock Risers</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Anya is one of the grittiest athletes you will see on the court. She has been a huge addition to the I AM volleyball 17 Red squad and can make a difference as a setter and hitter. Her volleyball IQ is sky high and she can execute to near perfection. Anya will be a huge pick up for a college program and is one of the top-ranked athletes in this class. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Lizzy has been a consistent stock-riser in this class. She is a player who constantly puts in the work and improves every time I see her play. She is on the Sting 18 Gold squad this year and recently won the Badger Region Championships 18 Open division. Lizzy is committed to West Florida. What sets Lizzy apart is that she takes every role she is handed, and she absolutely dominates it. From a serving specialist as a freshman at Oconomowoc, where she ended the season as one of the best servers in the state, to playing up an age division, Lizzy never fails to impress me with her maturity and determination.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Lillian is an Army commit who improved in the rank from #58 to #54. She plays a very clean game of volleyball and utilizes all of her hitters. She isn't afraid to take risks when she is on the mover and has great connections with the other players on her team. Lillian is a natural leader on the court. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Kaitlyn made a big jump in the rankings from number #89 to #59. She is an impressive athlete who made an impact on the DSHA program this past season, earning significant playing time and helping them win their 3rd straight state championship. Kaitlyn is an athlete who is consistent across the board. She is a solid defender, aggressive server, and high-level setter. Her ability to step up in high-pressure situations sets her apart on the court. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">New to the Rank</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Izzy is an incredibly talented setter who was 1st Team All-State and made the All-Tournament Team for state this past season. She is a gamer who makes the tough plays look easy and is relentless on the court. Her connections with her middles are seamless. One thing that really stands out about Izzy is her ability to make in-game adjustments that give her team an advantage in the match. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">If you want to see a setter run the court efficiently, look no further than Lauren. She is a highly talented setter who has a very high ceiling. When she is on the court, she is always pushing herself to the next level. Lauren is a player to keep an eye on in this class. She is the type of athlete who could continue to rise through the ranks. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Lydia exploded onto my radar this fall when she helped lead her high school team to the State tournament. She is the type of setter who gets the job done for her team. Whether it is making a defensive play or consistently putting up well-placed, clean sets, Lydia does it and more as a leader on the court.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Lindsay runs a very fast-tempo offense. She is newer on my radar but very impressive in everything I have seen. Lindsay is very smooth when she is on the move and works to beat the ball. The placement of her sets is consistent, and she balances her offense well. Lindsay is a player to watch in this class. I'm sure athleticism and talent will only continue to impress.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">New to the Watchlist</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Abbey caught my eye at a recent tournament because of her crisp, clean play. She wasn't over the top or overly dramatic in her play, which I really liked. I just got the sense that she was a solid athlete who worked hard on every single point and put up consistently good sets. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Katilyn is an athlete who has caught the eye of numerous scouts. She stood out because she can make any pass work for her and consistently betters the ball for her hitters. Kaitlyn is all over the court, yet no matter if she is on the move or has the perfect pass, she puts up a hittable ball to help her team earn points.</p>
