For every new addition to the rankings, which we talked about yesterday, there are kids that have gone above and beyond in their development, improvement and possible recruitment to the next level. Here are five athletes from four different clubs that have turned heads enough to gain a bunch of well-earned attention.

The early pick for top recruit in the class of 2028, Cala is the libero for 4A champ Carroll after a stellar outing in the state championship match against Yorktown. She's on PHP's 17-1 squad, a full two years ahead of her own. And just when I didn't think she could improve on her errorless serve receive performance in the high school title match, I had MULTIPLE out-of-state PrepDig scouts telling me how much of a difference Miss Haffner makes on her squad at the tournaments they saw her at. A first-contact queen, Cala is the libero you wish you had on your squad---in charge, calm under pressure and always going a little farther to cover for her teammates. The sky is the limit for this young lady, and it only gets better from here.

Playing up a year on recently-qualified Rev 16-1, Maggie is a long and lean setter that is smooth as silk with her hands, her feet and everything in between. She can go get the tight pass and make a perfect set, keep things in tempo when the passes aren't perfect, and is tough to attack against despite her slight frame. She really showed out at our showcase last year, and has proven time and again that she's only going to get better and stronger as time goes on.

From a family of volleyball players, Audrey was the sole reason Plainfield was relevant during the fall of '24 high school season. An absolute hammer, Audrey can terminate from anywhere, in- and out-of-system, and in a variety of ways. The heft she puts behind the ball is unmatched in this class, and her choice of shots with that heft makes her that much tougher to defend. Already qualified for nationals, Audrey's rise is more of a product of her abject relentlessness; that willingness to keep going and never stopping. That's tough to teach---at any age.

It's important to note that I've listed TWO liberi from PHP in this article, mostly because they play for two different age groups (both older than their own) for the same inaugural club. In Kyla's case, the 16-1 libero is, without a doubt, in charge of everything that's within ten feet of her, and will do anything and everything to make sure that her first contact is a good one. She's even come to our showcase and earned her spot as the top defender from multiple scouts, this one included. Kyla's trip to this spot in her early career was not easy, but with her skill set, work ethic and character, it will be simpler for her to keep hold of her top-notch talent.

A northern Indiana kid from a family who "gets it", Nicole can do a little of everything on the volleyball court. Well-rounded and athletic, Nicole plays with a maturity usually seen in well-seasoned setters, not freshmen. Her setting is more than serviceable, and she locates the ball well for her hitters. On the attack, her aggression and athleticism makes her tough to stop. She even has the volleyball IQ to make decisions based on what the defense gives her, which is an upper-level trait that only comes with time and a certain type of DNA. Unlike the others on today's list, Nicole is great at every part of this game, and will be on our radar for years to come at this rate.
