12 Attackers Ready To Take On Madness in Miltown

We had a little “March Madness” a couple of weeks ago with Prep Dig Bracket Busters, and now we will have Prep Dig Madness in Miltown where we have teams from five states coming to the Milwaukee area for what will be quite the dynamic lineup of teams.  Here are ten from the 16s and 17/18s Division who could be packing a punch this weekend.     [player_tooltip player_id='503793' first='Ashlin' last='Nottestad'] has always been a power pin for I AM VBC who will be playing on their home court this weekend! They will be a favorite in the 17/18s Division where they have been having a successful season as I AM VBC 18 Red. Nottestad has a knack for scoring points and has a lot of pop. Her swing results in a heavy ball which makes it tough for the other side to receive cleanly. She will head to Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa who has been it a tradition of advancing to the national tournament year in and year out.     I remember [player_tooltip player_id='117630' first='Jaelyn' last='LaPlante'] from this event in 2024 where she was a standout for SMV 17s. This year she''ll be one of the key point scorers for SMV 18-1 Black out of Rochester, Minnesota. This is the premier club out of Southeast Minnesota where they continue to produce college volleyball athletes who were multisport standouts in high school. LaPlante will be heading to Minnesota State Mankato where she will play volleyball as well as track and field. She will be one of the top all around athletes in the entire field this weekend.     [player_tooltip player_id='487015' first='Jayse' last='Holman'] is part of a very talented Inifinity 18 Navy team with Madison area athletes who have always been a contender in every event they've entered. They took home the Prep Dig Minnesota Slam title back in January. Holman will be one of the key players as a 6'0 left handed right side. She is a really tough matchup for the other side of the net with how she can find the open spot while hitting a heavy ball. She will play her college volleyball at UW Stevens Point. Another athlete on this team who will be heading to the WIAC is middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id='248484' first='Allison' last='Bostley'] who will play at UW La Crosse.     Another Southeast Minnesota athlete to watch is [player_tooltip player_id='221905' first='Kinley' last='Soiney'] who will be a key middle blocker for SMV 17-1 Black. She preps for Mabel-Canton High School who is a small school power in Minnesota. Soiney has great hangtime and can hit a variety of tempos out of the middle. She has great side to side movement that allows her to close the block and become available to score points in the middle. She is one who could be on the radar for college coaches looking for a 2026 middle.     [player_tooltip player_id='487008' first='Elise' last='Plaggemeyer'] is going to be one to light up the scoreboard this weekend (even though they are flip scoreboards). She is an outside hitter for NSVBC out of the Madison area where they have found success at Prep Dig Events. She has really good court vision where she knows how to find the deep corners to score points.     [player_tooltip player_id='504462' first='Mia' last='Powers'] is definitely one to watch from the Class of 2026 when it comes to middle blockers. She has the length, physicality, and athleticism to be a college level player. She can get to the pin to close the block while getting out in transition to terminate. With her athleticism, I can see her being a terminal point scorer at any spot along the front line. She knows when to tip, throw, swing big, or use the block to keep the serve on her side of the net.     [player_tooltip player_id='726408' first='Sofia' last='Rodriguez'] will be suiting up for Spiketown Sheboygan 17s. She is quite a dynamic athlete where she had a breakout season for Sheboygan Christian as a top libero. They advanced to the D5 state tournament. She was also one of our standouts at the Prep Dig Top 250 last November. I saw her at Badger Region where she was a DS/outside hitter. This Spiketown Sheboygan squad plays with a great energy and such a fun vibe on the court. They could be one to sneak up on a few squads this weekend.     An undersized by outside hitter standards, but watch out for the power that [player_tooltip player_id='388458' first='Elizabeth' last='Ehlke'] packs with her swing. The 2026 outside hitter approaches and wings with a violence - I mean that in the best way possible. Too many times I see outside hitters play safe and tip. Seeing Ehlke be aggressive on the pin is refreshing and exciting. This Wisconsin Attack squad is really exciting. They were down a few players at Bracket Busters and with a full squad they could be really dangerous this weekend.     Iowa One out of the Cedar Falls/Waterloo area has plenty of small school talent who play at a high level. [player_tooltip player_id='739561' first='Taylor' last='Schneider'] is a 2027 who is going to be on the rise in Iowa. She's right around six feet tall, long wing span, and high contact point. She's a left handed right side who poses a big matchup problem for the other side of the net. This Iowa One squad had great success at the Minnesota Slam in January finishing as the 16s runner up. I would think they would be a threat this weekend at Madness in Miltown.     When I saw Bodoh play at the Champions Cup in early March, I was quick to write her number down so I could see who this long, athletic, and terminal attacker was. She is a key point scorer for [program_tooltip program_id='428659' first='Wisconsin' last='Blaze'] where she can attack and score from anywhere along the front line. Her hang time is special that allows her to see the entire court, she can hit the deep corner or thump it on the ten foot line. She will be fun to watch and one college coaches could find as a hidden gem of 2026.     [player_tooltip player_id='522765' first='Rylee' last='Kennedy'] is going to be one of the main point scorers for Elevate 17s out of the Tomah, Wisconsin area. She actually preps at Lewiston-Altura out of Minnesota where she has had a decorated career. She will head to D3 national power Northwestern College out of St. Paul, Minnesota. Her all around play is what is very impressive about her game. She can serve receive, defend, and score points. She uses her attack angles well where she can go cross court, line, or use the block to her advantage.     [program_tooltip program_id='431932' first='South' last='Shore Slam'] 16 National out of Sheboygan County has put together quite a season where they punched their ticket to Dallas for USAV nationals through the Badger Region. They will be one to watch this weekend at Madness in Miltown where they have quite the dynamic attacker in [player_tooltip player_id='249663' first='Kenley' last='Mortenson']. Mortenson has length and athleticism where she can score points in a variety of ways. This 16s field is loaded with talent and will be quite the matchup of talented teams this weekend.
