Show Me Qualifier: Texas Right Side Hitters Ready to Swing

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>BID season continues at full pace and, with the USAV Girls Junior National Championship just over two months away, club volleyball teams from Texas continue to add significant mileage to their loyalty cards as they travel around the country to compete in National Qualifiers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This weekend, the destination for many of them will be Kansas City, where one of the most popular events of the club season, the Show Me Qualifier, is set to take place from Saturday to Monday.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Over 750 teams from all over the country are set to compete across the ten divisions in the 15s, 16s, and 17s age groups, and among them are several Texas teams. These squads count on some of the most talented prospects in the Lone Star State, and we've been taking the week to feature a few of them. The right side hitter is a key player for them and should play a massive role on offense, carrying part of the team's scoring load. A lefty, Goodlett has incredible range and precision in her swings and she does a very good job of adjusting to shorter or lower sets and using tips to score in difficult situations. Capable of playing on the right or the left, she's a tremendous asset to the team, combining size and power with strong technical skills. Also a standout basketball player, Reed is extremely athletic and that shows every time she goes up at the net to swing. She's very technical too and will often score in difficult situations with smart, well-placed shots, but it's her size and power that set her apart. An incredibly athletic player, she makes the most of her physical skills, making an extremely powerful approach every time she goes up to swing and jumping out of the gym. A lefty, Nelson thrives when set a quicker ball on the right, so she can explode and beat opposing blockers for it, but she can also score in more pragmatic plays, making use of her ability to hit sharp angles. A big and physical player, she should be their go-to scoring option, and she's equipped to perform well in that role, taking advantage of her size to overpower opponents at the net. Voskuhl's offense has become more reliable over the years as she's developed her ability to read the game and turn to tips and roll shots when those are the best options to put the ball down.
