14U Club Standouts Poised to Impact Iowa Preps in 2025

We focus mostly on the 15U Division and older here at Prep Dig. Most of those student-athletes have high school experience, and we can evaluate them in different settings.   We do watch 14U, however, and report on notable achievements. It provides a glimpse into next year's prep freshmen, lending insight into that scene.   Here's a look at a group of players that fit the description:    Ehler is advanced well beyond her years. If she continues working and developing, her volleyball ceiling is high. Ehler is gifted with height and athletic ability. Beyond being a dead-eye setter, she defends the net and possesses a mighty lefty swing, one better than a lot of hitters at this age. What makes Ehler special is her feel for the game and her knowledge of the sport. She makes winning plays by combining her natural ability and volleyball IQ. Ehler will be an impact-player right away in high school.     Moore played a large role in Select winning the USAV Iowa Regional this season. She shined through six rotations, limiting mistakes and displaying impressive versatility. Moore's quickness and sharp reflexes make her stand out in the back row. When she rotates to the pin, Moore provides a powerful attack courtesy of an excellent vertical leap and the ability to read the block. It's not easy for freshman to impact programs on the 5A level, but Moore boasts the tools to make it happen.     Running the operation for one of the soundest teams in 14U, Kriegel is a well-rounded setter that could help out the Wolves varsity in 2025. There's experience ahead of her on the roster, but don't count Kriegel out as a potential rotation piece. Her future is bright with what she's put on the court this club season. CIA finished third at the Iowa Regional, earning a USAV Nationals bid. Kriegel gets the ball to her attackers accurately and on time. She sees the court well and locates holes in the defense. Kriegel is solid in serve-receive and her swing shows potential.     A multi-sport athlete, Peterson played a key role in [program_tooltip program_id='431948' first='Iowa' last='Rockets']/Pleasant Valley's runner-up finish at the Iowa Regional. For a student-athlete not solely focused on one activity, Peterson displays advanced skills for her age. She's consistent, an asset at setter, and limits her mistakes. Peterson utilizes instincts at the position and shares a strong connection with her attackers. She defends at the net and can handle herself in the back row.     Jensen is a key cog on a squad that qualified in the Open Division at USAV Nationals. She's a force in the middle of the net as a two-way threat. Jensen is advanced defensively, having worked on the intricacies of the position, such as timing and reading the attack. Her attack also has steadily improved in power and accuracy. Jensen is an agile athlete with a very high ceiling if it all comes together. She will be a handful for the Tri-RIvers Conference opponents in 2025 and beyond.     Operating at libero for the Iowa Regional champions, Cewe ties together a really connected team with a short rotation. She reads the ball well and gets herself positioned to complete her assignments. Cewe's lateral quickness and sharp reflexes benefit her at the position. She's technically sound and takes control on the back row. As well as Cewe performs now, there's plenty of room for development and growth as a defender. She should help the Clinton varsity out right away.
