The first ranking of a class is always the toughest. With thousands of players in a class, a couple of scouts, and feedback from trusted sources, it's always a challenge to identify not only players who should be ranked but also where they should be ranked. This is our 2028 debut. As in all rankings, there are things we get right, things we get wrong, and players who are missed. Between watching players live and watching countless hours of game film and highlight reels, we have a starting point. Our reminder we issue with each ranking, it's based on college potential at the next level and not just the present. Expect a lot of movement over the next few years ,but for now, let's introduce you to the top ten.

We went back and forth with our top two and couldn't go wrong either way. At 6'4" and the ability to play in the middle and on the pin, Wingenbach will be a top prospect in this class. She is fluid along the front row and a headache for opponents. During the high school season, she had just shy of 250 kills, hitting above a .330 clip.

Another player with great size and tremendous upside, Pfeiffer, falls into the same category as her teammate, with the ability to take swings all along the front row. She moves well and is already an elite blocker. She also had a solid freshman high school year with close to 200 kills from the middle.

The first pure pin and six rotation player to the ranking is Oak Grove and KC [program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last='']'s [player_tooltip player_id='556998' first='Paisley' last='Hudson']. She is a dynamic outside who can fill up the score sheet with kills all over the court. For her age, she has high-level court vision and can place the ball in many zones. Her ability to attack behind the ten-foot line makes her equally dangerous. She had over 300 kills and hit over .300 in her freshman season.

Maciel debuts at the fourth position in the first rankings. Listed at 6'1", she is another player who has displayed the ability to play solid defense and be an effective scorer on the outside. She has had a strong spring for her Mavs KC team. Her first high school season at Blue Springs saw her produce 279 kills and over 200 digs.

Also a talented beach player, Albers checks in at five in our rankings. She provides great size and length at the net, which allows her to affect the game in many facets.
Bakker is a player who jumped on our radar this spring and quickly became a player we needed to keep watching. She is an electric middle who sees the court well. Her ability to find the open space on the court is among the best in this class. She is quick off the ground and brings a punch behind each swing.

This is an example of the potential factor in our rankings. There are many talented setters, and Wilson is one of the top pure setters in the class. Being 6'0" and talented increases your stock in the eyes of college coaches. Now, we don't want you to think it's only the height that makes her special. Wilson sets a good ball and runs an effective offense for Rockwood. Defensively, she provides a big block, which makes her highly valuable in a 5-1 system.

We travel to the west side of the state to get our eighth-ranked prospect in Club North and Park Hill product, [player_tooltip player_id='666872' first='Payton' last='Osegueda']. She is another player with good size standing in that 6'0"-6'1" range. You could see the growth in her game this spring in her shot selection and limiting hitting errors. The biggest leap in her game has been the ability to stay on the court and play back row defense, which is key in the eyes of college coaches.

An electric outside attacker, Stack joins the rankings at nine. At only 5'9", she has no fear and brings it with each swing. She has good bounce, which allows her to swing over the bigger blocks, but she also provides the [program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last=''] to go through or tool the block. She is one of the stronger scorers in this class.

As with Stack, many would consider Grzella-Skibiski undersized at only 5'8", but her talent and ability to score are undeniable, and for that, she lands in our tenth spot. The Battle and [program_tooltip program_id='698098' first='573' last='[program_tooltip program_id='490801' first='Missouri' last='Juniors']'] player stood out to me this spring. The area of her game that impressed me the most was that she wanted the ball when her team needed to score. She's not afraid of the moment and has a level of confidence you love to see in young pins.
