With the recruiting dead period over and nationals just around the corner, a lot of big time names will be talked about getting offers this summer in the class of '27. Here are five names from five different clubs that are redefining what pin attackers should be in Indiana.

After going undefeated at the Show Me Qualifier (10-0!), Caroline and the rest of the Boiler Juniors squad put the midwest on notice. This high-flying right side who can terminate from anywhere in both serve receive and transition is ready for her close up. Springy and quick, smart and powerful, we're starting to run out of superlatives to describe her. Even on the block, Caroline plays bigger than her narrow frame, with well-spaced arms, hands that wrap around the ball and an instinct to know exactly where the ball is going before it happens. It shouldn't be long now before Miss Ward lets us all know where we can watch her at the next level starting in the fall of '27. Oh, and did I mention she's playing up a year in club?

A six-rotation beast of an outside, Shania is an absolute force of nature, with a relentlessness that is only exceeded by her highly trained skill set. The power she gets behind the ball when attacking is unmatched, and she has perfected all parts of her game in all situations. She is NOT a "look at me" player---she gets the job done with a workmanlike demeanor and attitude that looks like what the definition of "driven" should be. If you haven't seen her play before, a player comparison I give is Lexie Almodovar, another relentless Munciana product who finished as the A-10 player of the year twice along with being a third team All-American her final year at Dayton. Same size, same demeanor, same way of playing---a relentless, driven winner who knows no bounds.

I've listed Lila as a middle as well as an outside because she started her playing career as a middle. Her transition to the outside was rocky at first---until she found an offensive system she liked at Academy. In the much-faster-than-average system she plays, Lila is a hammer on the left pin and uses her length as her strength against undisciplined blocks not accustomed to the speed. It's not often a player can make the transition from middle to outside without being 6'3"+, yet Lila is doing so in a quick offense requiring fast transitioning feet and an approach that is based on timing and situation. The one thing I keep forgetting should be the most obvious reason for lauding Lila---she's doing all of this on a team a year older than she. By now, she's more than mastered the move to the outside, and it's only a matter of time before a collegiate program finds what they need in Miss Bruszewski's skill set.

With all of the shots in the book and the complete package as a six-rotation outside hitter, Jenna has been more than ready for prime time viewing for a while now. Playing nothing but an open-level schedule for two solid seasons, she burst onto the scene all the way back at our PrepDig Gauntlet series last spring, and has done everything you could ask of a full-time outside and then some. Terminal as an attacker, consistent as a receiver and a solid all-around player, Jenna's willingness to do a little of everything is not common among six-ro outsides here in Indiana, which separates her from the crowd in the Hoosier state.

From northern Indiana, Luca's already jumping past ten feet as her attack point as a primary-passing, six-rotation outside for Michio and Chesterton High School. The ball she hits is heavy and hard to dig---her pace behind the ball just sounds different coming off of her hand. On serve receive, she's relaxed and accurate, seemingly always in the right area with the right movement to the ball to make the next contact more than playable for her setter. Her size and jumping ability is also an asset when she blocks, as she takes up a good amount of space in width and sets a good block for her middle to find. Over the last two seasons, I've personally watched this young lady go from occasional excellent play to a constant highlight reel on every point. It shouldn't be long now before she finds a home that's ready to showcase her talents at the next level.
