I remember watching [player_tooltip player_id='261083' first='Maegan' last='Cheeseman'] at the state tournament for Ankeny Centennial and knew she would be a next level player, it was just a matter of where. She has the length and athleticism to play all the way around and has a very dynamic skill set. She's been playing for Iowa Impact 171 Elite this club season and will join a few other Iowans on the Sioux Falls roster that includes [player_tooltip player_id='215457' first='Jadyn' last='Hofmeyer'] of Unity Christian, [player_tooltip player_id='215469' first='Maci' last='Lerseth'] of Indianola, and [player_tooltip player_id='215439' first='Hollie' last='Peterson'] of Sioux City East.

I remember seeing [player_tooltip player_id='261075' first='Kaelyn' last='Wieland'] as a freshman and being so excited for her journey across her high school and club career. She could be an attacker, setter, or I even thought she could have gone the libero route with her playmaking ability. She has found her spot as a QB1 where she can run the show as a setter. Her club team of PowerPlex 17 Wieland has collected plenty of hardware from big events this club season. When I saw the Minnesota State Mankato coaching staff on their court at Northern Lights, I thought that would be a home run for Wieland and the Mavericks.

Another Ankeny Centennial athlete heading to the next level and specifically the Northern Sun Conference is [player_tooltip player_id='389060' first='Tatem' last='Schmidt']. She joins 2025 graduate Delaney Ward (Wayne State) and 2026 teammate Megan Cheeseman (Sioux Falls) who will all be in the same collegiate conference. The NSIC has found great success in recruiting Iowa athletes. Schmidt can swing and set, she is dynamic to the max where she always finds a way to make a positive impact for her team. I can see her taking a bigger role scoring points for Centennial this fall as they will be looking for another trip to the state tournament.

The Purple Aces have a former Pleasant Valley setter as well in Kora Ruff who will be entering her senior year. Kelley will finish her high school career at Davenport Assumption after winning a state title at Pleasant Valley in 2024. Her length and physicality at the net will suit her well in the Valley where she is a true 5-1 setter.

This has been quite a year for [player_tooltip player_id='389019' first='Avery' last='Vogt'] who led Waukee Northwest in a “Cinderella” run to the Class 5A state championship match, coming in as the number six seed to the state tournament. She commands the court with her presence and body language, you can just tell she is the leader of her side. She will be the “Hometown Kid” heading to Drake from Waukee. First she will look for a strong finish to her club season for PowerPlex 17 Mendoza and will lead an experienced and extremely talented Northwest squad who will have big goals for Vogt's senior campaign.

The Mullihan Twins are heading to St. Cloud! Grace and [player_tooltip player_id='389017' first='Bailey' last='Mullihan'] have been quite the duo for Denver High School and Six Pack Volleyball the past few years. [player_tooltip player_id='389009' first='Grace' last='Mullihan'] has been a middle blocker who is accustomed to a quick tempo coming from setter [player_tooltip player_id='389012' first='Channing' last='Johnson'] where this lead to nearly 300 kills on the season. Her ability to control the net out of the middle was a key piece in the state championship run for the Cyclones in 2024. She is also a key part of the Denver girls soccer team who is one of the top teams in Class 1A where she has 11 goals on the season.

The twin package of Grace Mulilhan and [player_tooltip player_id='389017' first='Bailey' last='Mullihan'] will follow the Iowa pipeline to St. Cloud State. The Huskies have grown into a D2 national powerhouse where they have benefitted from plenty of Iowa athletes, including some from the Cedar Valley. They currently have Grundy Center alum in Carlie Willis. [player_tooltip player_id='389017' first='Bailey' last='Mullihan'] was an All State outside hitter for Denver and has been a key point scorer for Six Pack 17-1 who has notched some open wins this past club season. She has teamed up with twin sister Grace in being a key part of not only their volleyball success, but also basketball and a top ranked soccer team.

[player_tooltip player_id='389078' first='Norah' last='Hany'] is a middle blocker for PowerPlex 17 Wieland and preps at Johnston. At 6'1, Hany has the length and athleticism to make an impact on the front line. She has been a standout at Prep Dig Showcases and is always someone the other side of the net needs to know about with her ability to find the open court and close the block.

They have a tradition of excellence, competing in the GLIAC Championship with some top D2 talent in the country.
