With summer leagues starting all around the state, I felt that it was important to start the countdown to our school season, which begins in less than two months. We'll talk about ten teams from each class, giving us a total of forty, before we start our high school season in earnest. First off, we have the Bulldogs from Crown Point, who return a ton from their 28-win season. We'll also predict what might happen this fall for this program.

There's no doubt in my mind that, once again, Crown Point will be a major factor in the northern half of the 4A draw this fall. With [player_tooltip player_id='236692' first='Elle' last='Schara'] returning as the primary attacker, anything is possible for this group. The Purdue-bound outside led CP in kills, hitting percentage and aces, all while being second in digs and in service receptions. She'll be asked to do that much more, as the great majority of the Bulldogs' offense runs through her. Without a setter, however, Elle can't lead. Insert [player_tooltip player_id='546291' first='Cailin' last='Duncan'], who was part of the 6-2 CP ran last fall. I'm anticipating another 6-2 offense from this group, although confirming who the other setter will be would be presumptuous of me. She'll be part of a solid ball-control group, headlined by Southern Illinois commit [player_tooltip player_id='764577' first='Isabella' last='Del Real'], who will anchor the defense and serve receive as Crown Point's libero once again. Rising sophomore defender [player_tooltip player_id='546281' first='Hayden' last='Klimowicz'] will have an increased role as a three-rotation defender, just to take a little pressure off of Miss Schara and Miss Del Real. As far as size and athleticism is concerned, I'm guessing that [player_tooltip player_id='592319' first='Ivy' last='Henderson'] will once again fill the middle role as top blocker from a year ago.

Again, this is Crown Point, a blue-blood in volleyball that regularly represents northern Indiana in the deepest parts of the playoff run. Is this their year? Probably not, unless [player_tooltip player_id='236692' first='Elle' last='Schara'] can find some offensive help. When that help comes, watch out, as the Bulldogs can get on point streaks quickly in this iteration of their offense.
