Rising stars from the Bluegrass State Games

Who showed up and who showed out? Here are a few rising stars that turned our heads at the Bluegrass State Games. We've put together some names you might not know, but absolutely need to know and will probably hear again in the near future!    Olivia is a top contributor to the Dunbar Varsity team consistently racking up points for her team with an explosive jump and a lethal kill. She is a powerhouse that brings a lot of talent to the court with impressive skills for a freshmen. Olivia has excellent court IQ, has an impressive swing, and an amazing vertical that comes easy to her. She covers well, hits and passes with excellent ball control, showing excellent enthusiasm on the court to match her amazing skill set. She is fire, remember her name!          Corrine is one to keep tabs on, she is sneaky good and that makes her dangerous on the court. She has a great correct swing that can unleash a powerful kill making great contact with the ball and a lofty vertical. Brown's hitting from the ten foot line is impressive with a huge downward trajectory that is almost impossible to return. She easily moves up and down the net to block with great footwork and covers well. Her serve is just another weapon she draws on, which produces points consistently. Corrine communicates well on the court and knows how to make plays happen. A star in the making!     We have seen Allie play a few different roles and she does all equally well! Setting for <a href="https://prepdig.com/team/lexington-catholic/">Lexington Catholic</a> at the Bluegrass Games Allie shows a ton of determination to get the ball up and playable! She easily sets to the front and back row giving the third contact the best possible chance to score! Allie has a nice left handed swing that packs a punch and can hit down the lines and deep in the corners. She can play off the net, digs relentlessly and has good timing with her block. She possesses a good court IQ and runs the court well, motivating her teammates! She is an enthusiastic athlete in any role on the court and on the bench, giving a 110% effort! She can bring the heat with a cool exterior! We can't wait to see more of her!     Sydney is a definite standout player, with a full toolbox of skills! We saw exceptional play from this Freshman at the Bluegrass Games for Mercy. Sidney plays a nice tight game with excellent ball control, great athleticism and gets involved. She displays excellent mechanics in her approach and swing which produces ton of power for an impressive kill! She positions herself well reading the plays and delivers! An equally impressive driving serve and well-timed blocks make her a game changer on the court! The force is strong with this one, she is already lighting the court on fire!     Kendall has an imposing presence at the net with an excellent textbook block and nice reach. We saw Kendall effectively back off the hitters from tight swings, transitioning on and off the net with good speed and correct footwork. She displays perfect movement staying with the opposing set and is crafty into fooling the opposition with oncoming contact and covers her teammates well. Kendall hits with a nice smooth swing, produced from a lofty vertical from a powerful jump. She has fast transitional footwork always putting herself into the proper positions to make plays! A very smart player with the skills and athleticism to a path onward and upward with great court IQ and enthusiasm! No doubt she will get there, we're sure of it!     Abi has those magical hands that can turn a bad pass into a great set! Abi has a strong and confident presence on the court taking command and running the court with smart plays! She produces consistent excellent sets with great hands and a strong correct platform putting the ball accurately in the hitter's hands, quickly and efficiently to rack up those points. Abi keeps the opposition guessing where the play goes not giving away her set and can place the ball perfectly with consistent great composure, she can get to the ball and get it into play. She communicates well with the front line and is a enthusiastic strong confident player. She is a core player and would be an asset to any team!
