Top Ten of 2028

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We are still learning about the class of 2028. This high school season should teach us more, as many of these sophomores earn more varsity action. After the club season, there wasn't much movement with our top ten. After taking in nationals, [player_tooltip player_id='623081' first='Rilynn' last='Wingenbach'] is our top prospect in the class. At 6'4", she has shown she can take over matches with a strong offensive skill set and dominant presence defensively at the net. She has spent some time with USA Volleyball in their developmental pipeline. In the second position remains another lengthy middle/rightside in [player_tooltip player_id='828400' first='Gillian' last='Pfeiffer']. She also delivered this spring/summer and showed she will be a player courted by college programs in the near future. She moves very well along the front row and provides a good duo with Wingenbach for High Performance. [player_tooltip player_id='556998' first='Paisley' last='Hudson'] is the first outside hitter in the ranking, still holding down the three spot. Her ability to score in front and behind the ten-foot line with consistency and power makes her a strong prospect at the next level. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='543378' first='Olivia' last='Maciel'] looked good on the right pin for her Mavs team this season. She has good size at 6'1" and uses her reach to get on top of the ball and hit over defenders. She remains at four. A strong middle class continues, with the fifth and sixth spots in the rankings being held by [player_tooltip player_id='729470' first='Sarah' last='Albers'] and [player_tooltip player_id='758466' first='Rylie' last='Bakker']. Both are above-average defenders at the net with strong blocking skills. The first setter in our updated rankings is [player_tooltip player_id='545003' first='Eden' last='Wilson'] of Holt and [program_tooltip program_id='428799' first='Rockwood' last='Thunder']. I studied a lot of film this summer of the top five setters, as they are pretty close in talent at this point. Wilson's decision-making and confidence in her back sets stood out amongst the others. Her ability to go away from the play and consistently put the ball behind her on the mark to the right pin was seen time and time again. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Winding down the top ten at eight remains outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='666872' first='Payton' last='Osegueda']. She is already a proven attacker, but the growth in her back row passing and defense will continue to be the key to her development and rise in the rankings. You could see her work in action this last season with Club North. I love undersized pins who can flat out dominate, and we have that in 9th-ranked [player_tooltip player_id='694786' first='Ada' last='Grzella-Skibiski']. She has shown herself to be a six-rotation pin who excels quite well in the back row. It looks like she is making the jump to PVA next club season, which should be fun to watch. And our final spot is a new addition to the top ten, [player_tooltip player_id='524854' first='Elizabeth' last='Weaver'].
